Personal Statement:

I’m a self-taught 3D/Environment Artist with eleven years of professional experience and seven shipped AAA titles, including several multiplayer DLCs. Prior to that, I spent almost six years in the Quake 3 and Doom 3 Modding community making various multiplayer and single-player maps or working on personal environment scenes.

Work Experience: www.idsoftware.com (2014-present) October 2014 – present Position: Senior 3D/Environment Artist

Shipped Titles: Doom: Eternal (2020), including SP DLC: - I’m currently working on the first single-player DLC pack. My tasks include hard surface environment work, props creation, stamping, optimization. - I worked on various single-player levels and created unique hero assets for them like the BFG10k, giant mechs or hell towers. I also supported the background vista team with assets, as well as worked on gameplay spaces from early block out to final art. My tasks included environment art, texturing, level art beautification, asset and material creation and mentoring other artists on the project. I also worked on the HAR (heavy assault rifle) first-person weapon. - At the end of the project I worked on the multi-player level “zap” together with two other artists. I was responsible for final art from the level design block out.

Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus (2017): - I took the level “Mesquite: Farmhouse” from early block out stage to final art. My tasks included managing two other artists on the level, creating props, materials and doing environment art including level beautification.

Quake Champions (2017): - I supported the Quake Champions team with props and materials for a couple of months.

Doom (2016), including 3 MP DLCs: - I worked on various single-player levels for DOOM 2016. Tasks include environment art, texturing, level art beautification, as well as asset and material creation. - I was level art owner for the MP level “Cataclysm” that was included in the first DLC release “Unto The Evil”. My responsibilities were to manage and organize a group of up to 8 artists and communicate with the designers from BattleCry Studios that helped out on the project.

Shipped Titles: - I took the multi-player level “street wars” from block out to finish. My tasks included creating props, materials, doing environment art, lighting setup and optimization.

Homefront: The Revolution - I helped out on the project and supported the Crytek UK Team by creating a modular sewer tunnel system

Ryse: Son of Rome (2014) - I worked on two singleplayer levels and the multiplayer part for “Ryse”. Created new assets/textures and polished existing ones. As well as optimisation and beautification of two singleplayer levels.

Crysis 3, “ 3: The Lost Island (DLC)” - I worked closely with another artist on one level for the multiplayer DLC “: The Lost Island”. Created, optimised and polished most of the assets for this level. - Modeled, textured, composed, optimised and polished various areas of three singleplayer levels for “Crysis 3”.

Crysis 2 - Bugfixing, polishing and finalising - Worked on the Direct X 11 patch, where I implemented the DirectX 11 rendering features into the art assets of “”. - Prototyping of “Crysis 3”. - I worked closely together with a group of level artists/designers and created various environment art assets for them. - Modeled and textured buildings, interiors and exterior level areas. - Set up pickable and breakable assets.

Education:

2004-2009: “Technische Universität Darmstadt” in Germany. Master’s degree in sociology with labor organization as major subject.

2003-2004: “Universität Hohenheim” in Germany. Studying social economy (Sozialökonomie). Not finished.
