2020 Annual Report July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020 2019-2020 Annual Report July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020 *This report acknowledges only activities and donations that occurred between July 1, 2019, and June 30, 2020. All gifts are deeply appreciated and acknowledged individually. If your gift was received outside the time period of this report, it will not be included below. We should have made this clear in the original report, and we apologize for any confusion. The mission of Association for Adults with Developmental Disabilities (AADD) is to provide education, discussion, and social learning activities that empower men and women, 18 years and older, with developmental disabilities to maximize their independence and life quality while supporting caregivers and increasing community inclusion. AADD’s programs develop independent living and self-determination skills as well as create opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to have a network of friends and mentors. Our vision is a world where adults with developmental disabilities have the skills, confidence and social support to live a full and happy life as independently as possible. Letter from the CEO D ear Friends, This past year presented AADD and the rest of the world with unprecedented challenges. We began the year, as usual, with spectacular activities and events. Of course, the New Year’s Eve party and overnight stay and Sweetheart’s Dance at Drexelbrook Catering were outstanding. Unfortunately, Covid-19 brought all of our face-to-face activities to a halt in early March. Thanks to our wonderful Board of Directors and staff, we were able to re- imagine AADD's programs and begin operating virtually. Thankfully, we could still be “together” for Zoom meetings. On April 21st, we held our first virtual RAP group over Zoom, and on May 9th, I led a virtual tour of an amusement park for our first virtual trip. Since then, we have been playing Bingo and Trivia games, enjoying musicals and shows and taking virtual tours of exciting places like aquariums, zoos and national parks! Both participation and attendance have been better than ever! I am hopeful that next year will bring normalcy and the opportunity for face- to-face interaction. I know I am just as eager as our AADD members to resume our usual activities. Once again, thank you for your support. You are the reason AADD will be able to continue making a difference in the lives of our members and their families for years to come. Sincerely, Larry I. Rubin Chief Executive Officer Programs Due to Covid-19 we have October to February we had temporarily pivoted to virtual S.A.F.E. training with Victim RAP group and trips. We have Services Center of Montgomery taken virtual "trips" to many County funded by a grant from locations and had fun playing Next for Autism and the Night of games and having parties. Too Many Stars. Financials 2019-2020 Revenue - $358,304 2019-2020 Expenses - $382,501 Covid-19 made a significant impact on AADD and all nonprofits last year. As you know, we were unable to hold our annual Key Day fundraiser and many people as well as foundations felt the sting of a weak economy. While AADD was fortunate to receive a PPP loan and other generous donations and grants that allowed us to continue offering programs, we are definitely looking forward to better fundraising environment next year. Record of Donations received between July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020 Every gift to AADD is deeply appreciated and benefits our members and their caregivers. While we would have like to include every donation we have received, this report is limited to activities and donations received between July 1, 2019, and June 30, 2020.
