SBI BANK LTD. PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO HELP CONTROL PANDEMIC OF COVID-19 OUTBREAK IN NEPAL

COVID-19 a pandemic pneumonia outbreak in Wuhan, has reported 2.40 lakhs human losses till date affecting 210 countries. As of now, there are no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19. Within a period of 4 months more than 34 lakhs people have been infected with the virus and is a highly communicable disease which may result a huge human loss in future if not controlled or take a precautionary measure in the right time.

NSBL being a socially responsible organization has shown great commitment towards society. In this current situation of international medical emergency, the Board of the bank has decided to grant contribution of Rs. 100.00 Lacs to help control pandemic outbreak of COVID-19 in Nepal under the corporate social responsibility. Out of the said amount, Rs. 50.00 lacs has been allocated towards contribution in the newly established fund of the Government of Nepal. Apart from these Rs. 5.00 lacs each has been provided to Provincial Government and Rs. 15.00 lacs will be spent by the Bank across Nepal for the prevention and control of COVID-19.

Out of all the programs as decided by the board of the bank, following CSR activities has been executed;

Cheque of Rs. 5.00 lacs being handed over to Hon. Chief Minister, Mr. Sher Dhan Rai of Province 1.

Cheque of Rs. 5.00 lacs being handed over to Hon. Chief Minister, Mr. Md. Lal Babu Raut of Province 2.

Cheque of Rs. 5.00 lacs being handed over to Hon. Chief Minister, Mr. of .

Cheque of Rs. 5.00 lacs being handed over to Hon. Chief Minister, Mr. of Province 4.

Cheque of Rs. 5.00 lacs being handed over to Hon. Minister Mr. Sudarshan Baral (Ministry of Social Development) of Province 5.

Cheque of Rs. 5.00 lacs being handed over to Hon. Minister Mr. Naresh Bhandari (Internal Affairs & Legal Ministry) of .

Cheque of Rs. 5.00 lacs being handed over to Hon. Chief Minister, Mr. of Sudurpaschim Province.

Cheque of Rs. 80,000.00 being handed over to Mayor of Sub-Metropolitan City, Mr. Lal Kishor Shah.

Cheque of Rs. 51,000.00 being handed over to Mayor of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City, Mr. Shiva Raj Subedi.

NSBL Bhairahawa Branch handed over 5 PPEs (full set) to Bhim Hospital (Government Hospital) at Bhairahawa.

NSBL Dhangadi Branch handed over daily consumables to Dhangadi Sub- Metropolitan City to help marginalized communities affected due to lockdown.

NSBL Kohalpur Branch provided medical goods to Khajura Rural Municipality Office for preparedness to prevent COVID 19.
