FOX SPORTS POWERS BACK-TO-BACK NASCAR RACE WEEKENDS WITH FOX SPORTS 1 - 10 DAYS OF THUNDER NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, Iconic Coca-Cola 600 Bookend Expanded Block of Multi-Sport Programming MEMORIAL DAY BONUS: Golden Boy Boxing Live from Fort Bliss; Best Army Ranger Competition CHARLOTTE - Leading up to the running of the famed COCA-COLA 600, NASCAR’s longest and most grueling race of the season, on Memorial Day weekend, FOX Sports unveils FOX SPORTS 1 – 10 DAYS OF THUNDER, a special multi-sport programming block anchored by two weekends of high-profile NASCAR racing, the announcement of the next five inductees to the NASCAR Hall of Fame and premieres of three new FOX Sports 1 originals. FOX Sports 1 coverage opens Friday, May 16 (11:00 AM ET) with 12 consecutive hours from Charlotte Motor Speedway, highlighted by live coverage of the NASCAR ALL-STAR SHOWDOWN (7:00 PM ET) running on Friday night for the first time ever. At 8:00 PM ET, the network announces the winner of the SPRINT FAN VOTE, the final entrant in NASCAR SPRINT ALL-STAR race, before moving right in to the NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES race at 8:00 PM ET. On Saturday, FOX Sports 1 tees up exclusive coverage of the 30th running of the NASCAR SPRINT ALL-STAR RACE with qualifying coverage at 7:00 PM ET, followed immediately by driver introductions -- with country music superstar Jake Owen -- and the race, with green flag racing expected shortly after 9:00 PM ET. Mike Joy leads the FOX Sports 1 NASCAR SPRINT ALL-STAR RACE booth from Charlotte with analysis from NASCAR Hall of Famer Darrell Waltrip -- winner of the first-ever All-Star race and the Coke 600 on consecutive days in his 1985 championship season -- and former crew chief Larry McReynolds. Chris Myers hosts from the famed Hollywood Hotel, with analysis from Jeff Hammond -- Waltrip’s crew chief for the memorable 1985 season -- and Michael Waltrip. Reporters Steve Byrnes, Krista Voda and Matt Yocum patrol the pits for updates throughout. “From the minute we heard about the All-Star Race back then, everyone in the garage wanted to win it,” Darrell Waltrip said. “The amount of effort we put into that race in 1985 was amazing, and the amount of work teams put into it today hasn’t changed. Everyone wants to win the race … no driver wants to be left out of it, because winning the All-Star Race means you beat the best of the best.” On Wednesday, May 21 (4:00 PM ET), FOX SPORTS 1 is LIVE from the NASCAR Hall of Fame for the announcement of the sport’s five newest inductees, and on Thursday, May 22 (9:30 PM ET), FOX Sports 1 premieres the first of three new originals, 100,000 C AMERAS: THE NASCAR SPRINT ALL-STAR RACE, a high-energy look at the All-Star Race, using additional cameras and content provided by the race fans themselves. Produced by NASCAR Productions, 100,000 CAMERAS is the next phase in the evolution of the multiple Emmy Award winning annual All-Star special, Inside the Headsets. Thursday also marks the first of three NASCAR RACE HUB prime time specials -- Thursday, May 22 (8:30 PM ET) and Friday, May 23 (7:00 PM ET), as well as the premieres of two additional FOX Sports originals -- EMPTY CUP: QUEST FOR THE 1992 NASCAR CHAMPIONSHIP AT 8:00 PM ET and The 600: HISTORY OF NASCAR’S TOUGHEST RACE at 9:00 PM ET. Action on the track continues Friday, May 23, highlighted by the NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES final practice at 1:00 PM; all in preparation for the Sunday running of the iconic COCA- COLA 600 on FOX, with coverage beginning at 4:30 PM as NASCAR RACEDAY sets the stage on FOX Sports 1, before handing off to FOX NASCAR SUNDAY at 5:30 PM ET and the green flag dropping at 6:00 PM. Racing coverage wraps up with NASCAR VICTORY LANE on FOX Sports 1 at 12:00 AM ET.
