Scope
Ancient Civilizations from Scythia to Siberia (ACSS) is an international journal covering such topics as history, archaeology, numismatics, epigraphy, papyrology and the history of material culture, as applied to the ancient world and relating to the territory of the former Soviet Union and neighbouring countries, as well as to research undertaken by scholars of the former Soviet Union abroad and to materials in collections in the former Soviet Union. Particular emphasis is given to the Black Sea area, Eurasian steppes, the Caucasus, Asia Minor, Siberia, Iran and Central Asia. Ancient Civilizations from Scythia to Siberia has already established itself as an invaluable resource for the subject both in the private collections of professors and scholars as well as in the major research libraries of the world. Submission Requirements
Language Contributions must be written in English (occasionally also in French or German). Spelling should be consistent throughout. An English translation should be provided for all passages in Russian, Greek or Latin running to more than a few words.

Manuscript Requirements
Manuscripts must be clearly typewritten with numbered pages, double line spacing and wide margins throughout. The institute at which the work has been done should be indicated at the head of each paper. Authors are requested to include their e-mail address. The manuscript title should be as brief and informative as possible.
Abstract and Keywords Each article should be accompanied by a short summary in English of up to 150 words, which should enumerate one by one all the principal facts and conclusions set forth in the paper. There should also be up to 8 keywords.
Bibliography References in the Text References are in “Harvard style”: author’s surname and year of publication, number of page, fig. or pl. They should be given in the footnotes. For example: Salvatori 1995, 67-68, 123-125, fig. 13, pl. 26; Ivanov 1972a; 1972b; Kassab Tezgör & Tatlıcan 1998, 423.
Bibliography The references should be listed in alphabetical order in full at the end of the paper on a new page headed “Bibliography” in the following form.

Abbreviations A separate list of abbreviations should be supplied, organized in alphabetical order of abbreviation. The titles of journals should not be abbreviated.
Example: Sinopean amphorae of the Roman period belong to two production traditions, but they are all made of the same fabric.1 The first tradition continued the development of the shape of the local Hellenistic amphorae. These are amphorae of late variant Sin Ic with conical “winding” toes (fig. 1, 1). The latest known vessels of this variant are dated to the mid- 1st century AD.2 Possibly, these were the precursors of several varieties of Sinopean amphorae of the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD, which are described below.
Publication
Proofs Upon acceptance, a PDF of the article proofs will be sent to the author by e-mail to check carefully for factual and typographic errors. Authors are responsible for checking these proofs and are strongly urged to make use of the Comment & Markup toolbar to note their corrections directly on the proofs. At this stage in the production process only minor corrections are allowed. Alterations to the original manuscript at this stage will result in considerable delay in publication and, therefore, are not accepted unless charged to the author. Proofs should be returned promptly.
E-Offprints A PDF file of the article will be supplied free of charge by the publisher to authors for personal use. Brill is a RoMEO yellow publisher. The Author retains the right to self-archive the submitted (pre-peer-review) version of the article at any time. The submitted version of an article is the author's version that has not been peer-reviewed, nor had any value added to it by Brill (such as formatting or copy editing). The Author retains the right to self-archive the accepted (peer-reviewed) version without any embargo period. Transfer of Copyright By submitting a manuscript, the author agrees that the copyright for the article is transferred to the publisher if and when the article is accepted for publication.
