Press release 6th August 2021

With and , two former world No. 1 confirmed their participation in the 2021!

With three weeks to go before the start of the tournament, two players with impressive records, ’s Martin Kaymer and ’s Luke Donald, will bring all their experience to try to take home the 2021 trophy.

Martin Kaymer, 36, has two Majors to his name - the US PGA Championship in 2010 and the US Open in 2014. He certainly holds other enviable records: winner of the European Tour in 2010 marked by four victories; world number 1 in 2011; and a key player in four teams, sinking the winning putt to seal the miracle in Medinah in 2012. Last June, he took an encouraging second place at the BMW International Open which took place in his native country. He looks to have regained his form and will arrive in confident mood to Crans-Montana, where he will participate in the tournament for the fourth time having narrowly missed out in 2011, finishing just behind Thomas Bjorn.

Luke Donald will walk the fairways of the Crans-sur-Sierre Club for the fifth time with a victory in 2004, his second win as a professional. He became world No. 1 for the first time in May 2011 in spectacular fashion, beating in the playoffs to win the BMW PGA Championship, a title he went on to successfully defend in 2012. He was awarded honorary life membership of the European Tour that same year, a great recognition of what he has contributed to the game of golf. He has 13 professional victories to his name, including 7 on the European Tour, as well as being selected four times for the Ryder Cup team. Luke is also a regular player on the PGA Tour.

Good luck to these two players who join the growing list of potential winners that include Spain’s Miguel Ángel Jiménez, England’s , ’s and the Austrian .
