Stadium dimensions measure 325 feet down the right and left field foul lines, 365 feet up the power alleys and 400 feet to center. The on-campus lighted field includes home and visitors dugouts with a storage area, an enclosed press box and easy access to the team’s locker room, Harmon Stadium’s concession stand and restrooms. The field was completed in 1992, the first season of Osprey softball. Batting cages are located behind the home dugout and stand alongside UNF’s bullpen.

THE UNF TENNIS COMPLEX Men’s & Women’s Tennis The University of North Florida Tennis Complex contains 11 lighted hard courts -- including a fenced stadium court -- along with a covered seating area for fans. Seven additional courts are located alongside the main complex.

Adjacent to the courts is a brick building that contains the offices of the head men’s and women’s tennis coaches, restrooms, a large meeting area and a concession stand.

10 Athletic Training

THE ARTHUR “BUSTER” BROWNING ATHLETIC TRAINING CENTER Hodges Stadium The Arthur “Buster” Browning, M.D. Athletic Training and Education Center was dedicated on April 6, 2005. The facility is named in honor of Browning, a longtime Jacksonville physician and supporter of the UNF Athletics program who also serves as president of the Osprey Club Executive Board, UNF’s primary athletics booster group.

The 3,000-square-foot facility, which houses the athletic training operation for more than 250 UNF student-athletes and also serves as a clinical training site for the University’s Certified Athletic Training Program in the College of Health, opened in February 2005 and more than doubled the size of the previous facility, which was located at UNF Arena. The new facility tripled the University’s number of training tables, doubled the area used for taping athletes, added a large rehabilitation area and allowed for the purchase of a Biodex isokinetic testing machine, which assists in rehabilitation and post-surgical treatment. It is located on the first floor of Hodges Stadium.

Through the efforts of Tony Weight - who served as chairman of the fundraising committee for the facility - and local businessman Ridge Sink, more than $200,000 as raised - all in honor of Browning. The State of Florida matched the funds raised to help complete the facility, which was used by the Philadelphia Eagles during their preparation for the 2005 Super Bowl.

UNF ARENA ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM UNF Arena The UNF Arena Training Room was used as the athletics department’s primary treatment area from 1993-2005 and will remain as part of the sports medicine department’s overall facility, housing a treatment area that will be used for volleyball and basketball during competitions. The room will also serve as the primary examination area for all athletes as they undergo preseason physicals and as a clinical area for students enrolled in UNF’s undergraduate athletic training program.
