Announcements- TODAY

Thank you Kim Reed! Today, Kim Reed steps down as the St. Mark's Youth Coordinator, a position which she has served in since 2013. Under her leadership, the youth program at St. Mark's has flourished in the ways that our youth are involved in worship, formation, outreach and as vital members of the St. Mark's community. Kim's leadership is evident in our 24 youth being confirmed in April by Bishop Lee, one of the largest confirmation groups in the Diocese of Chicago. The popular once-a-month Sunday Bridge youth group is a truly multi-cultural gathering that provides opportunities for service and community building. Kim's contributions to the youth program go way beyond numbers. She has been a counselor and support to many youth as they navigate the joys and trials of adolescence and family life. She has been a tremendous member of the St. Mark's staff, helping out with all aspects of our church life. Kim will continue to be involved in our companion relationship with San Marcos in Mexico and organizing the annual trip to Nigromante. A search for a Youth Coordinator will happen this summer. In the meantime, Cynthia Mote will be serving as our Interim Youth Coordinator. Cynthia has been a member of St. Mark's for ten years and has been our college youth intern for the past two years. I am grateful for the smooth transition that is already underway as Cynthia takes the reigns from Kim. Please join me in thanking Kim for her outstanding work and for all that she has accomplished in the last four years. - George Smith

Friendship at St. Mark’s is a joy! Words of welcome and warm smiles say: “I’m glad you’re here. I’m glad we go to church together.”

Today while we worship and picnic together – for those who feel game :) here's a guide to greeting others in the three different languages we hear and speak at St. Mark’s!
