As an integral part of Jourgensens Mad Max-like mutant family of musicians, Connelly joined a drug-crazed travelling circus. Live shows were transformed into an ear-splitting redneck disco from hell, under the influence of a mind-boggling cocktail of every conceivable narcotic, with sleazy strippers and even reports of live cattle on stage. As well as Jourgensen and all the Wax Trax crew, the book features cameo appearances by Ogre of Skinny Puppy, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, Killing Joke, Jah Wobble, and Cabaret Voltaire. Despite the unrelenting chaos, both Ministry and the Revolting Cocks have been immensely successful; Connelly appeared on two US gold albums (The Land of Rape and Honey and The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste) and worked as songwriter on the million-plus selling platinum album Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs. Connellys superbly written, funny, irreverent, and sometimes downright scary memoir is one of the finest portrayals of a man trapped in the eye of a post-punk industrial storm this side of Armageddon. WHEN doctors examined year-old Chris Spry's jaw, they were horrified to find the tip of a steak knife lodged there that his evil foster mother had rammed down his throat when he was a child. Chris, who was fostered by Spry at three, is still battling with the mental and physical damage caused by her abuse, living with constant pain, walking with a limp and needing several operations on scars that have turned cancerous. Connelly was born in Bruntsfield, Scotland to Michael and Sadie (née King) Connelly near the city centre of Edinburgh. Connelly's father died in a swimming accident early in his life, [4] causing Chris to focus on artistic interests outside the home to help fill the void. Connelly's Scottish ancestry includes Irish descent through the Connellys and Murphys, who originally came from Ireland to Scotland. His mother’s side, the Kings and the McCullochs, were from the Highlands and migrated to Glasgow in search of work. [5] Music career. Connelly began his music career in 1980 with the formation of Finitribe. [6] Through subsequent years he fronted or was heavily involved with numerous notable industrial, dance, and new wave acts. In 2008, Connelly published a memoir of his early years in the music industry, Concrete, Bulletproof, Invisible, and Fried: My Life As A Revolting Cock ( ISBN 0946719950). It describes his professional debut in Finitribe, meeting Al Jourgensen in London, his involvement with the Revolting Cocks, Ministry, PTP, Acid Horse, Murder, Inc., and Pigface, and the development of his solo career. In contrast to his industrial roots, Connelly explores various genres in his solo works. In 2013, he has started two projects more in the vein of industrial: Cocksure, with Jason C. Novak (Czar, Acumen Nation, and DJ? Acucrack), and Bells into Machines, with Paul Barker (Ministry, Revolting Cocks, and Lard), as well as the res-erection of the mighty Cocks sans Al Jourgensen and with Richard 23 of Front 242 in 2016.     Chris Connelly : INITIALS C.C. Out-takes, Rarities and Personal Favourites 1982-2002 vol.1 01. Detestimony – Fini Tribe: This was the “A” side of an EP called “Let the Tribe Grow,” written and recorded when the Fini Tribe was going through great musical changes. We had acquired an Ensoniq ‘Mirage’ sampling keyboard, and as was the same for a lot of bands at the time, it changed everything, opened up a lot of doors, and led us into some very uncharted waters. The actual piece was whittled down from a fifteen-minute opus we had written. I remember being in Philip Pinsky’s bedroom one night with John Vick. Philip’s then-roommate, Lindsay, gave us an old quarter-inch reel of tape he had. On it was a beautiful recording of the church bells you hear on the song; we sampled them and came up with the melody. The EP actually did better than any of us had anticipated and became a sort of hit in the Ibiza clubs at the very advent of the acid house/rave phenomenon. We actually went ahead and re-wrote/re- structured the song for the WaxTrax! Records release (“Make it Internal/Detestimony Revisited”) a couple of years later. 02. Mania – Murder Inc.: Certainly what I feel is the most compelling song on the one and only album released by Murder Inc. The band was basically Killing Joke, minus Jaz Coleman (Killing Joke’s singer), plus me, as well as the original drummer, Paul Fergusson, and newer drummer, Martin Atkins. The sessions took place at Pachyderm Studios in rural Minnesota during September of 1991.

We've extended our reporter roster well past the 200 mark; Our New Alternative and Hard Rock sections have inspired numerous imitators, and our combi- nation of high technology and people power has effectively re -defined what a tip sheet can and will be in the years to come.
