LIFETIME Kidsrooms is there since 1972, the company behind the brand M. Schack Engel A/S, however, can look back on decades of experience CREATIVE DREAMS SINCE 1972 in the furniture business. The history of furniture manufacturing in Højer, Denmark goes back to 1924 when Lars Hans Engel, the grandfather of the current company owner, opened a timber repair workshop. His son, Martin Schack Engel took over the company in 1958, expanded the portfolio and established the workshop in the following years to a small furniture manufacturing.

The special feature: All the furniture was made of solid wood and kept to together with wooden wedges ONLY.

Due to strong demand, the company kept their focus on children / youth furniture and invested in staff and equipment for furniture production. This was the same time as the starting point of a successful bed system, which in 1974 started as “Classic System”, the direct predecessor of today’s LIFETIME Kidsrooms “Original”. A development that has been driven by the third generation of the Engel family strongly ahead. Lars and John Engel rose in 1982 in the company, and eight years later a sales company in the M. Schack Engel A/S.

Finally, they took over in 1992 both companies and merged them in 2008 to M. Schack Engel A/S. Today John Engel is supported on the board and in the daily activities by co-owner Keld Nielsen. To date, all LIFETIME Kidsrooms Original furniture is manufactured in our own factory - using expert cabinetmakers and woodworkers and an ultra-modern machine park. The theme worlds are created in collaboration with numerous of designers, implemented with the latest trends to bring children dreams to life. CONTENT
