Du jamais vu en star français. L’équipe de France est qualifiée pour les jeux d’Athènes. Ils seront sauf problème nos représen- tants. Pour le titre, ce sont les fantastiques anglais Iain Percy, champion Olympique en Finn à Sydney et membre du défi GBR challenge (coupe Louis Vuitton) et Steve Mit- chell. Loof le suédois (champion 2001 à Medemblik) et Percy/Mitchell WC 2002 Xavier confirment la présence des anciens finnistes sur les podiums du Star. Après de bons débuts, Paulo et Vincent (38e) ont encore Xavier et Yannick : fait preuve de bons coups mais aussi de mauvais choix.

Dopo le prime due prove, disputate ieri, l?equipaggio azzurro composto da due atleti imperiesi è al terzo posto, a soli due punti dai leader. Oggi, con inizio alle ore 13, altre due prove. Questo l?estratto del comunicato ufficiale Fiv di ieri sera. Nella classe Star brillante 3° posto per Diego Negri e Luigi Viale, grazie al 4° posto nella prima manche, migliorato con un 2° nella prova successiva. Da notare che nella prima regata gli azzurri delle Fiamme Gialle erano secondi a 200 metri dall?arrivo, ma hanno dovuto eseguire una penalità durante il lato di poppa per intervento della Giuria (bandiera gialla per ?pompaggio?; vale come una ammonizione e va evitata una seconda bandiera gialla nel corso del campionato), scivolando al 4°. La Star è divisa in due flotte che corrono col sistema delle batterie. Al comando della classifica i francesi Xavier Rohart-Pascal Rambeau (3-1), davanti ai campioni mondiali in carica i neozelandesi Hamish Pepper-Carl Williams (3-1), e dagli azzurri Negri-Viale (4-2) che sono appaiati ai fuoriclasse brasiliani Robert Scheidt-Bruno Prada (2-4). Al 5° posto l?ex timoniere di +39 Challenge l?inglese Iain Percy?Andrew Simpson (1-8) con l?ex iridato e oro olimpico il polacco Mateusz Kusznierevicz-Dominik-Zycki.

Jean Wort. It is with great pleasure that the Society brings together those who love and serve the sea—to recognize those individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the community on this auspicious occasion. The NMHS Annual Awards Dinner takes place in the fabulous Model Room at the New York Yacht Club. photo by allison lucas The 2019 NMHS Honorees: Matt Brooks and Pam Rorke Levy Husband and wife team Matt Brooks and Pam Rorke Levy will receive the 2019 NMHS Distinguished Service Award for their restoration of the historic yacht Dorade, the famous ocean-racing yawl designed by Olin Stephens and regarded as one of the great- est yachts ever produced by Sparkman & Stephens. Purchasing Dorade in 2010, Brooks and Levy restored the historic yacht to not just a seaworthy condition, but racing condition, before kicking off their “Return to Blue Water” campaign. Built in 1930 at the Minneford Yacht Yard in City Island, New York, Dorade claimed victo- ries that decade in the Newport–Bermuda, Fastnet, TransAtlantic, and Transpac races. As part of her 21st-century campaign, Dorade has re- peated each of these races in the last seven years, reaching the podium in every race, and winning the Transpac overall—77 years after her first victory there.

John MacCausland and Sean Delaney came 1st District through with the win and Aaron Serinis took it on the chin Sept. 7-8 Bedford Pitcher, CLIS the hardest and finished 20th. A very long day. Sept. 14-15 Nathan Hale, HB Sept. 21-22 Nutmegs, Mid Sunday dawned much like Saturday, very little wind with high humidity and temperatures. We towed out to the bay 2nd District but there was no wind and not much prospect of any. The Sept. 14-15 SSA Fall Series committee towed us back in to the river where there was a Sept. 28-29 Fall Windup, TAYC much better chance of wind inside. As the day went on the Oct. 19-20 Michelob Cup, WRSC wind slowly increased to 7 to 9 knots. With this wind the committee was able to get three races in. th 5 District John MacCausland and Sean Delaney sailed very solid to Au. 30-Sp. 1 Labor Day Pitcher Regatta, SDYC finish out with a 2–1–1 to win the District Championship. It took four tries to get this race started due to a winds pattern that went from around 2nd District 320 all the way around to 120 degrees. The sea breeze won Apr 30-May 2 Annapolis Spring / NOOD (AN) out in this battle and we got off to a W-3 which actually (Tri-District Qualifier) had to have the last two legs shortened as the wind seemed May 8-9 Spring Regatta (MRYC) to be dying. The start was in 6 knots at 110 degrees and the 5th District pin end was favored. George Szabo and Mark Strube took May 6-Aug 19 Starlight Series (Thurs. @ 6pm) (CYC) this one over Rick Merriman and Paul Cayard came third. May 29-30 Rollins Bowl (SDB) It was a tired fleet which sailed in after 9 hours of frustration mixed with only one race. The U.S. Olympic Trials Day 4: Report as viewed from the Race Committee Boat Day 4 started with an hours delay due to boisterous winds By Harry Walker exceeding 20 knots. PRO Rich hoisted the AP and the fleet The event was run like the Olympics at Athens will be run sat, knowing they would be out after a bit. with races scheduled to run between an hour and a half and Race 6 was started in 18 knots with the wind direction of an hour and a quarter.     STARDUST Volume 5, No. 9 September, 2004 Newsletter for the 1st, 2nd and 12th Districts SEPTEMBER REGATTA SCHEDULE STARS TO RETURN TO LARCHMONT! 1st District Larchmont Columbus Day Regatta Sept. 11-12 Bedford Pitcher (CLIS) October 9-10, 2004 Sept. 18-19 Nutmeg Regatta (Mid) Through the efforts of Star Class member Thierry de La 2nd District Villehuchet and Larchmont Race Committee Sept. 11-12 Blue Star Chairperson Cynthia Parthemos the Stars will participate Sept. 25-26 Oxford Fall Wind-Up (TAYC) in the Larchmont Columbus Day Regatta, October 9-10, 2004. Traditionally this regatta includes boats from various th 5 District classes including the Etchells 22's, International One Sept 4-5 Labor Day Pitcher (SDB) Designs, Shields, Sonars, S Boats and on a separate course, Sept 11-12 Harris Series (CYC) the 12 Metres. The race committee intends to run multiple Sept 18-19 Green Star (NH) races each day as the weather permits. Saturday evening 12th District there will be a dinner held in Larchmont's famous dining Sept. 11 – 12 Lake George Open (LG) room. This regatta will be included in the scoring for the Sept. 18 – 19 Flasir – (Ithaca Yacht Club) Nash Trophy. So mark this event on your calendar now!
