Trade at Truro Market was above other regional markets due to quality on offer. Top price of the day was 202p/kg and £1,372 for a super Limousin x steer (pictured) from Mr. R.E. Richards of St. Keverne purchased by J.V. Richards Ltd of Perranwell Station. Premium heifer came from George Richards Farms of Summercourt selling at 191p/kg also to J.V. Richards Ltd. An entry of seven super steers under 2 years old from Messrs. G.W. & H.E. Hawkey of St. Wenn saw Limousin crosses top at £1,085 and single British Blue £1,030, all averaging £1,070. Smart Limousin steers from Messrs. J. & J. Sawle & Son of Beacon saw yearling pairs to £790 and £750. A grand run of Aberdeen Angus cattle, from Devichoys Farm Ltd of Perranarworthal, mainly yearlings, sold to £745 for steers and £710 for heifers, with an older steer pair at £945.
