Food Security Cluster  Rations were announced for the 3rd push of food distributions. For the Government-led areas, a ration comprised of rice, tinned fish and meat, and noodles will be distributed to approximately 111,800 beneficiaries in the Efate urban and peri -urban areas as well as in south-east Pentecost.  900kg of potatoes have been delivered to boarding schools across to supplement school children’s limited access to vegetables as a result of damage from Tropical Cyclone Pam.

Logistics Cluster  The Rainbow Warrior, on loan from Greenpeace, has received 3 requests for service before its arrival to Vanuatu. The ship has 40mt capacity and is offering services to the cluster for no additional costs.

Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC)  Funding shortfalls remain, leading to uncertainty as to whether ETC will be forced to close its operation at the end of May. This will negatively impact humanitarian aid activities on the island since there are 330 registered users connected to the internet through WIDER, an ETC tool. The Government has also indicated that it is likely to need information and communication technology beyond May.  The logistics of transporting demobilized equipment from the islands back to Port Vila continues to present a major challenge.
