Our city was formed by the union of three municipalities: the township of Dymond, and the Towns of Haileybury, and New Liskeard. Temiskaming Shores is known for its wonderful views on the shores of Lake Temiskaming. I would like to welcome our newcomers with the “Northern Hospitality” that we are so famous for. By embracing our immigrant roots we recognize that newcomers bring with them the rich diversity that makes Canada a woven masterpiece made of many distinctive strands of culture and ethnicity. Our diversified and active community offers an outstanding quality of life. We offer lakefront housing along with many other choices of homes in a rural or city setting. D’abord, nous retrouvons des paroisses catholiques avec ses associations telles que les Chevaliers de Colomb et les Filles d’Isabelle; trois écoles catholiques élémentaires, une école publique, une école secondaire catholique, un Centre d’éducation des adultes et un Centre d’apprentissage. The surrounding First Nations communities include: Matachewan First Nation, Beaver House First Nation, Temagami First Nation and Timiskaming First Nation. The majority of the indigenous population in the area are of Algonquin and Ojibwe tribes. Temiskaming Native Women’s Support Group (TNWSG) Keepers of the Circle Aboriginal Family Learning Centre is located at 121 Scott Street in Temiskaming Shores. It is a place that indigenous and non-indigenous people can gather. We offer various programs such as: licensed child care services, healthy lifestyle education, prenatal nutrition, referrals to community services and family support services for children and families.

CHENG ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING AND REPORTING BRANCH MINISTRY OF THE ENVIRONMENT TORONTO ONTARIO 2002 KK PREFACE This report provides a regional assessment of the groundwater resources of areas draining into Hudson Bay, James Bay, and the Upper Ottawa River in northern Ontario in terms of the geologic conditions under which the groundwater flow systems operate. A hydrologic budget approach was used to assess precipitation, streamflow, baseflow, and potential and actual evapotranspiration in seven major basins in the study area on a monthly, annual and long-term basis. The report is intended to provide basic information that can be used for the wise management of the groundwater resources in the study area. Toronto, July 2002.     Toronto Integrated Solid Waste Resource Management ("TIRM") Process - Request for Proposals for Disposal Services (City Council on June 7, 8 and 9, 2000, amended this Clause by deleting from the recommendation of the Works Committee, after the words “Emergency Services”, the words “a verifiable environmental”, and inserting in lieu thereof the words “an environmental”, and adding to such recommendation the words “verifiable to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Works and Emergency Services”, so that the recommendation of the Works Committee shall now read as follows: “The Works Committee recommends that TIRM Respondents offering disposal services be required to have in place at the time of contract implementation, or an implementation schedule acceptable to the Commissioner of Works and Emergency Services, an environmental management system for their disposal, operations and applicable transportation systems, verifiable to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Works and Emergency Services.”) The Works Committee recommends that TIRM Respondents offering disposal services be required to have in place at the time of contract implementation, or an implementation schedule acceptable to the Commissioner of Works and Emergency Services, a verifiable environmental management system for their disposal, operations and applicable transportation systems.
