1. The territory of Québec shall be divided into eleven electoral regions, each represented by the following number of directors:

Electoral region: Number of directors

Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine region: 1;

Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Côte-Nord and Nord-du-Québec region: 1;

Québec region: 2;

Chaudière-Appalaches region: 1;

Mauricie-Bois-Francs region: 1;

Estrie region: 1;

Montréal region: 8;

Montérégie region: 2;

Outaouais and Abitibi-Témiscamingue region: 1;

Laval region: 1;

Lanaudière and Laurentides region: 1.

2. The territory of each of the electoral regions corresponds to the territory of one or more administrative regions described in Schedule I of Order in Council 2000-87 of December 22, 1987 on the revision of the boundaries of Québec’s administrative regions and its subsequent amendments, according to the following delimitation:

Electoral region: Administrative region

Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine region: 01 and 11;

Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Côte-Nord and Nord-du-Québec region: 02, 09 and 10;

Québec region: 03;

Chaudière-Appalaches region: 12;

Mauricie-Centre-du-Québec region: 04 and 17;

3. The first election of the directors of the following electoral regions shall take place on the first Wednesday in October 1996:

Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine region

Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Côte-Nord and Nord-du-Québec region

Québec region Chaudière-Appalaches region

Mauricie-Centre-du-Québec region

Estrie region One of the two directors of the Montérégie region

Outaouais and Abitibi-Témiscamingue region

Lanaudière and Laurentides region.

Montréal region

One of the two directors of the Montérégie region
