R5. South Baltic Scenic Coastal Route SOUTH BALTIC DREAM TOUR DESIGN: R5. SOUTH BALTIC SCENIC COASTAL ROUTE THE CONCEPT: THREE SCENIC ATTRACTIONS IN THREE COUNTRIES We welcome you to take part in scenic coastal route and be involved in romantic vacations of South Baltic region. You will visit three different countries with outstanding sceneries and unique attractions on the way. You will start either in Telsiai (Lithuania) or Rostock, Stralsund (Germany) depending on the starting place and include Sweden as well. On the route you will admire scenic hotspots in Lithuania (Telsiai, Curonian Spit), Sweden (Kalmar, Karlshamn, Karlskrona, Solvesborg) and the coastline in Germany (Stralsund, Rügen island). Besides, you will also enjoy the activities such as canoeing in Curonian Spit (Lithuania), archipelago tour and safari rides in Sweden, sunset cruise and sailing in Germany. Breathtaking places combined with interesting activities on the way will guarantee adventures and nice memories for long time. Welcome to the Scenic Coastal Route in the South Baltic Sea. 1. Kalmar Castle, Sweden, Rita Dizaviciene 3.The White Cliff, Rügen island, Freddie Bijkerk Example photos: (provide 3 best pictures from your thematic attractions) DESCRIPTION OF TOUR Locations for thematic activities of the Dream tour 1) Telsiai, Klaipeda & Curonian Spit – sightseeing 2) Karlshamn coastline, Karlskrona, Kalmar Castle, Solvesborg - sightseeing 3) Stralsund, Rügen island, Greifswald – sightseeing Besides we selected complementary locations for additional sustainable tourism activities including: 1) Spa evening in “Golden Dear” farmstead and climbing in Satrija Hill (Telsiai region), canoeing in Curonian Spit. 2) Safari tour in Eriksberg wildlife and nature reserve (Karlshamn), bike ride on Ryssberget Hill in Sölvesborg. 3) Visiting Jasmund National Park, ride on narrow-gauge locomotive train through resort towns, stop at Naturerbe Zentrum and Lancken-Granitz in Rügen island. SCHEDULE & ACTIVITIES Day 1-4 SIGHTSEEING IN TELSIAI AND CANOEING IN CURONIAN SPIT First day walking around Telšiai, visiting the Alka Museum, rafting on Lake Mastis and sitting on the Džiugas terrace for upcoming sunset. Departure to Biržuvėnai Manor and overnight stay at Golden Deer farmstead with Spa evening. Next day a little morning picnic on the highest Samogitia region Satrija Hill, then stop at Varniai regional park for a short bike ride or walking on the amber trail. Continue to Klaipeda, short walk in the old town and visit the “Sea Museum and Delphinarium”. Canoeing in Curonian Spit, admiring the scenery, stop at Nida, Parnidis dune, Dutchman’s Cap, the hill of Witches exposition in Juodkrante. Day 4-7 ACTIVE LEISURE IN SWEDEN COASTLINE Arrival at Karlshamn, short walk on the coastline, lunch or a picnic in the area. Short drive to Eriksberg’s wildlife nature reserve and taking a safari tour. Continue to Karlskrona, walk around in the sunset, then visit the Naval museum and getting on board to archipelago tour on the next day. Drive to Kalmar by short distance and visit the Castle, stay in the beach for a while if weather is suitable. Have lunch on the shore or in the old town. Departure to Sölvesborg for a bike ride at Ryssberget hill or taking a nice walk in the bay, visit the famous Sölvesborg bridge. Departure to Trelleborg for ferry transfer. Day 8-11 RUGEN ISLAND EXPLORATION Taking a romantic walk in the old town of Stralsund, participate in Marzipan workshop and taking part in evening sunset sailing trip. Day 9-10 will be spent in Rugen island, visiting the famous resort towns Saasnitz, Binz, Sellin, Putbus and admire unique architecture. Take a tour at Jasmund National Park, The White Cliff, stop at Naturerbe Zentrum (the Eagles’ nest), Lancken-Granitz. All towns can be commuted by historic narrow rail-gauge at low speed for a unique experience. Staying overnight in floating houses in Putbus, Lauterbach marina and having dinner at best fish restaurant “Raucherschiff Berta”. Day 12 HISTORIC GREIFSWALD Take a bike ride to explore the Old town inspired by Caspar David Friedrich who shaped the town greatly. Staying in the village Wieck for lunch in the restaurant, and then get on the board in the sailing training ship “Greif” for 6 hours and see the famous landmark of Rügen island - great White Cliff of Rugen island, which is best observed through sailing in the afternoon panorama. Also, windsurfing is available at Wieck fishing village. Sie beziehen Ihre Kabinen und beim Abendessen lernen Sie die Crew und die anderen Mitreisenden kennen. Sollten Sie schon früher anreisen, nutzen Sie die Zeit doch für einen Bummel durch die alte Hansestadt Stralsund mit ihrem nahezu komplett erhaltenen mittelalterlichen Stadtbild. Auch ein Besuch des Meeresmuseums oder des direkt am Hafen gelegenen Ozeaneums ist in jedem Fall lohnend. 2. TAG Insel Rügen, Lauterbach Glewitzer Fähre – Lauterbach (ca. 40 Radkilometer) Am nächsten Morgen heiβt es „Leinen los und Segel gehisst“. Durch den schmalen Strelasund bringt Sie die Atlantis an den Anleger der Glewitzer Fähre, von wo aus Ihre erste Radtour auf der Insel Rügen beginnt. Zunächst steht ein kleiner Abstecher über die kleine Halbinsel Zudar an.
