Tino Brütsch Education and current activities Tino Brütsch (tenor) performs extensively at home and abroad, chiefly in oratorio, lied and chamber music. He appears frequently with small ensembles and formations of varying instrumentation to perform music from all eras. In 1999 Tino Brütsch received his solo vocal pedagogy diploma under the tutelage of Kurt Huber and completed postgraduate studies in vocal performance in 2002 in the class of Christoph Prégardien at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater (HMT) Zurich, graduating with a distinction. Tino Brütsch has developed a broad and varied repertoire. Over the past years he has averaged over 80 concerts per year including the Monteverdi Vespers, Bach's Oratorios and diverse cantatas, Handel's Messiah, the Mozart Requiem, all of Mendelssohn's Oratorios, Bruckner's Mass in F minor, the In Terra Pax, Golgatha and Le Vin Herbé by Frank Martin, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Erwin & Elmire by Schoeck, the Jewish folk poetry by Schostakovich, Britten's Serenade and Les Illuminations and Pärt's St. John Passion. He has also created several art song programs with works from Schubert, Schumann, Baumgartner, Schönberg, Strauss, Weber, Beethoven, Britten, Tippett, Trümpy and Grieg. Among the orchestras he has worked with are the Zurich Chamber Orchestra, the State Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra of Novosibirsk, the Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa and the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie. Recordings Tino Brütsch appears on a dozen recordings with a focus on Swiss music. Among these are Willy Burkhard's oratorio "Das Gesicht Jesajas", works with guitar by Frank Martin, and settings of Mörike poems by Swiss composers for the occasion of the "Mörike- Bicentennial 2004". Other CD recordings include: Othmar Schoeck's opera Erwin & Elmire with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra under the baton of H. Griffiths, works by Michael Haydn with the Zürcher Sängerknaben, Swiss Renaissance compositions with the Ensemble Musicalina and T.L. de Victoria's Responsories with S. Smith. Ensembles Alongside his work as a soloist Tino Brütsch loves to perform in chamber formations. In recent years he has worked with the Berliner Lautten-Compagney, Capella Angelica Dresden, Marini Consort Innsbruck. He sings with the Zürcher Schubert Quartett and is a member of the prestigious Glassfarm Ensemble New York, specialising in contemporary music. Yannis Shymko Born in 1996 in Canada, Yannis Shymko started playing the piano at the age of 10. Currently he studies piano at the Department of Music Science and Art in the University of Macedonia in the class of Igor Petrin and at the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata with professor Stathis Gyftakis. With the same professor he obtained a Harmony Degree with honours in 2013. He has appeared in concerts and recitals throughout Greece in cities such as Athens (Athens Conservatory Concert Hall, “Parnassos” Literary Society, Musical Library of Greece ), Thessaloniki, Kalamata, Koroni (Koroni Chamber Music Festival, Koroni Arts Festival) and Delphi (Art Campus 2013). While participating in the Poros Piano Academies 2014 and 2015 he performed as a soloist with the Athens Sinfonietta with conductor George Aravidis. In addition, with the Symphonic Youth Orchestra of the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata he participated in the presentation of the musical and theatrical fairytale “Petrosoupa” ( Stone Soup) at the Athens Festival and at the 20th Kalamata International Dance Festival. As a result of his interest in modern music he recorded the complete piano works of Stathis Gyftakis. He recently participated in concerts of the Greek Composers Union and of the Composition Class of the University of Macedonia performing and premiering works of contemporary composers. In January of 2015 he performed Jani Christou's work “Anaparastasis I - The Baritone” conducted by composer Theodore Antoniou. During his studies at the Conservatory of Kalamata he developed a great love for chamber music under the guidance of Maria Papapetropoulou. In 2013, his chamber ensemble was chosen to participate in “Art Campus”, a chamber music summer camp. As a chamber musician he has collaborated with artists such as Leo Winland, Bianca Breitfeld, Christina Stanciu and Ioanna Gaitani. This May he received the 1st prize at University of Macedonia's Chamber Music Competition for his performance of Mahler's piano quartet. He has distinguished himself in many competitions: University of Macedonia's Concerto Competition May 2016 (Commendation Award), Panhellenic Competition Maria Cherogiorgou-Sigara 2014 (1st Prize), 7th Young Pianists Competition 2015 (3rd Prize), Panhellenic Competition "Filonas" 2013 (1st Prize and Monetary Award), Panhellenic Competition of the Summer Academy of Municipal Conservatories 2012 (2nd Prize), Panhellenic Chopin Competition "Dionysia Trust" 2012 (1st Prize) and he was awarded a full scholarship by the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata for the years 2013-2015. Among others he has participated in Masterclasses with Dora Bakopoulou, Domna Eunouxidou, Dimitris Toufexis, Maria Asteriadou, Hao Huang, Alan Weiss, Harald Ossberger, Michael Wladkowski ,Yuri Bogdanov, Lilia Boyadjieva, Dionysis Mallouhos and Harry Dimaras. His future engagements include concerts in Thessaloniki Megaron, Koroni Arts Festival with the singer Tino Brütsch and a solo recital in December in Alexandroupoli part of Thessaloniki Piano Festival's Young Artists concert series. .
