July Newsletter Glenn Alexander Guitarist / composer / producer Newsletter - JULY 2019 Woohoo summer is here for sure!!! July is hot, you’re hot, she’s hot, he’s hot...could be a song…oh yeah, somebody wrote that already. Be cool and come out to the insanity that will ensue at Stone Pony July 6th or at one of the many other gigs. Hope you have a fantastic month! ….…. ETC: Well, here’s some exciting news - Oria is ready to release her first single since her Yellow Paint album!!! The song is called “Wannabe” and it’s killin’!!! The song is currently being mixed by Larry Alexander, who also mixed the Yellow Paint album. Larry is a Grammy Award- winning badass who has worked with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi and too many others to list. The song is being mastered by Ted Jensen of Sterling Sound. Ted has also worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Green Day, The Eagles, Billy Joel and James Taylor. I may be biased, but Oria is the real deal - an exceptional musician, songwriter and performer. She’s got it all goin’ on! Stay tuned for more details, as there will be a video and other goodies ….…. SHADOWLAND: I know I’ve been sayin;’ this forever - but the new album is comin’ and we are THIS close! The Jukes intense touring schedule makes it very difficult to work on other projects, but I squeeze every spare second into Shadowland and you should be hearin’ new music very soon. The new album - titled “Knockin’ At The Door” - is in the final mixing stages and is slated to be mastered right after. I am not being immodest when I say this album is killin’ - it has some great new tunes and is one With Oria at Salt Creek Grille hundred percent rockin’. I know you’ll enjoy it, so please keep watching all of the usual spots for more info - my website, my Facebook page and my Twitter feed. I’ll keep you posted … Shadowland will once again be back at the Westfield Jazz Festival on Tuesday, July 30th. Last year was a huge bummer, as we were all set up and ready to go, but then the skies opened up and we were scrambling to rescue the equipment from the sudden downpour. Hopefully, we’ll have better luck this year. It’s a really great night of music and it’s FREE! So, if you’re in the Westfield area, I encourage you to check it out - music is from 7pm to 9pm ….…. THE JUKES: We are right in the middle of the busy summer season for The Jukes - lots of outdoor shows. But there is none bigger than our annual night at the legendary Stone Pony. It seems like EVERYONE comes out for this show and we love it! Thousands of people not only crowd The Pony, but also line the Asbury Park boardwalk and rooftops. It is usually broadcast live on Sirius, so if you aren’t able to make it in person, then you can feel like you’re Johnny’s there. This year opening for us is the great Garry Tallent - E Street Band bassist and Southside Johnny’s longtime friend. It should be a great night, so c’mon out … Also in July - we head down to the Delaware coast, up to the Massachusetts coast, out to the Hamptons, up to With The Jukes at Rams Head Annapolis upstate New York and western Pennsylvania. Whew! C’mon out and say hello ….…. • The Twenty Greatest Music Concerts I've Ever Seen
THE TWENTY GREATEST MUSIC CONCERTS I'VE EVER SEEN Whew, I'm done. Let me remind everyone how this worked. I would go through my Ipod in that weird Ipod alphabetical order and when I would come upon an artist that I have seen live, I would replay that concert in my head. (BTW, since this segment started I no longer even have an ipod. All my music is on my laptop and phone now.) The number you see at the end of the concert description is the number of times I have seen that artist live. If it was multiple times, I would do my best to describe the one concert that I considered to be their best. If no number appears, it means I only saw that artist once. Mind you, I have seen many artists live that I do not have a song by on my Ipod. That artist is not represented here. So although the final number of concerts I have seen came to 828 concerts (wow, 828!), the number is actually higher. And there are "bar" bands and artists (like LeCompt and Sam Butera, for example) where I have seen them perform hundreds of sets, but I counted those as "one," although I have seen Lecompt in "concert" also. Any show you see with the four stars (****) means they came damn close to being one of the Top Twenty, but they fell just short. So here's the Twenty. Enjoy and thanks so much for all of your input. And don't sue me if I have a date wrong here and there.

  • CITY of ASBURY PARK Comprehensive Parking Management Plan
CITY OF ASBURY PARK Comprehensive Parking Management Plan Submitted to: Department of Planning & Redevelopment City of Asbury Park, New Jersey Prepared by: March 2015 CITY OF ASBURY PARK Comprehensive Parking Management Plan EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The City of Asbury Park (“City”) is a 1.5 square mile Atlantic coast waterfront community located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The City is characterized by its rich history as a seaside resort, a center for the performing arts, and its history as a commercial destination. The City is currently in the midst of a period of revitalization. A variety of large and small revitalization projects have been recently completed, while others are in various stages of planning and implementation. These projects are transforming the City’s Waterfront, Central Business District (CBD), Main Street corridor, and the Springwood Avenue redevelopment district. Along with this revitalization has come some concerns that the community’s need for parking to support continued growth and redevelopment has become a serious challenge, and in turn, economic revitalization may suffer. At present, the City’s parking system is comprised of several off‐street surface parking lots and a network of on‐street parking meter pay stations which are dispersed throughout the downtown and waterfront district. The City also owned one parking structure located in the downtown area which was sold to the State of New Jersey in 1999. The garage is open to the public on weekends but primarily is used to support the functions at the State Office building during weekday business hours. Several private sector entities control a number of surface parking lots in downtown area and on the waterfront.
