WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT—Berliner & Kenny inspired by the Touchstone/Amblin film directed by Robert Zemeckis Original screenplay by Jeffrey Price & Peter S. Seaman, based on the work of Gary K. Wolf CONFIDENTIAL—All Rights Reserved DRAWN THAT WAY Lyrics by Robert Berliner, Music by Aaron Kenny & Robert Berliner JESSICA RABBIT, the femme fatale toon wife of ROGER RABBIT, surprises EDDIE VALIANT with a visit. Aware her husband is now wanted for murder because of her own apparent indiscretion, JESSICA insists she and ROGER were set up, and begs EDDIE to clear ROGER’s name. However, in light of the circumstances—and the provocative way in which she is depicted—EDDIE questions why he should trust her. JESSICA No, no, no, Mister Valiant, I love my husband. You’ve got me all wrong. You don’t know how hard it is being a woman, looking the way I do. EDDIE Yeah, well, you don’t know how hard it is bein’ a man, looking at a woman looking the way you do. JESSICA Oh, Mister Valiant… YOU HAVEN'T GOT THE SLIGHTEST CLUE HOW DESPERATELY I'M BEGGING YOU. MY HONEY BUNNY, HE'S MY EARTH AND SKY. SO PICK YOUR JAW UP OFF THE FLOOR— REMEMBER WHAT I CAME HERE FOR… THOUGH, IF YOUR MIND WENT WAND’RIN’, WELL— I WOULDN’T WONDER WHY. SEE THESE LIPS— I CAN’T HELP THAT THEY’RE DELICIOUS, THAT THEY’RE LUSCIOUS, AND ALLURINGLY DESIGNED. CHECK THESE HIPS— AREN’T YOU JUST A BIT SUSPICIOUS THAT THE ARTIST HAD SOME MISCHIEF ON HIS MIND? AND THOUGH THESE BRAZEN BRUSHSTROKES MIGHT COME OFF A BIT RISQUE, I’M NOT BAD, I’M JUST DRAWN THAT WAY. Who Framed Roger Rabbit—Berliner & Kenny—CONFIDENTIAL SEE THIS DRESS— I CAN’T HELP THE WAY IT FLATTERS, HOW IT CLINGS TO MY PHYSIQUE WITH EVERY MOVE. NONETHELESS, IT’S WHAT’S I N M Y CHEST THAT MATTERS— BUT, TO FAR TOO MANY “GENTLEMEN,” THAT’S AWFULLY HARD TO PROVE. AND THOUGH I’VE COME FOR BUSINESS, THEY ASSUME I’VE COME TO PLAY. I’M NOT BAD, I’M JUST DRAWN THAT WAY. LOOK, MY MARRIAGE ISN’T PERFECT, BUT ASK ANYONE WHO’S SEEN US— WE’RE HOOKED ON ONE ANOTHER, AND THERE’S NO ONE WHO COULD WEAN US. NOW, YOU’RE ENTHRALLED, ‘CAUSE, WELL, I’VE BEEN CALLED A “CAPTIVATING VENUS”… (She is right up in EDDIE’s space.) BUT I WOULD HATE FOR THAT TO BE THE THING THAT COMES BETWEEN US. (JESSICA briskly walks away, stops, turns, and knowingly catches EDDIE staring. Sigh.) GUYS WILL GAWK. I’VE DECIDED NOT TO MIND IT, ‘CAUSE THEY’RE HELPLESS AS A MOTH INTO A FLAME. AND THIS WALK, WELL, THERE’S A LOT OF “OOMPH” BEHIND IT ‘CAUSE SOME SHAMELESS MEN DESIGNED IT, FRAME BY EVER-LOVIN’ FRAME. STILL, I WALK THE STRAIGHT AND NARROW, SO DESPITE WHAT PEOPLE SAY, I’M NOT BAD, I’M JUST DRAWN THAT WAY. Who Framed Roger Rabbit—Berliner & Kenny—CONFIDENTIAL MEN CAN’T COPE. THEY TURN INTO HELPLESS WRETCHES FROM THE MOMENT THAT THEY PAY ME BUT A GLANCE. THEY ALL HOPE THEY’LL “COME UP AND SEE MY SKETCHES.” THERE’S A LINE IN TOWN THAT STRETCHES DOWN TO SUNSET FOR THE CHANCE. BUT I’M NO FLAKY FLOOZY YOU CAN THRUST YOUR LUST UPON. I’D NEVER BLUR MY LINES FOR ANY FLASH OF CASH OR BRAWN, ‘CAUSE WHEN IT COMES TO LOVE, THERE’S JUST ONE MAN TO WHOM I’M DRAWN. I’M FAITHFUL, I WOULD NEVER STRAY; AND WHO I AM IS WHO I’LL STAY. I’M JUST DRAWN… I’M JUST DRAWN… I’M JUST DRAWN THAT WAY. I’M SIMPLY DRAWN THAT WAY. .
