Sunday 15th September 2019 Matters from Race 24: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations The DRD investigated the following matters and determined they did not warrant referral to the Stewards: • A request from Motorsport Holdings into an alleged Safety Car Infringement by Car 5, Lee Holdsworth, and Car 6, Cam Waters. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed The Stewards imposed the following penalties during Race 24: • A PLP on Car 88, Jamie Whincup, for a Safety Car Infringement; • A 15 second time penalty on Car 18, Mark Winterbottom, for a Pit Lane Speeding Infringement. Matters from Qualifying Race 24, Top Ten Shoot-out: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations There were no DRD determinations. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed Following a post-session investigation and an admission by Brad Jones Racing Pty Ltd (Car #8 Nick Percat), to a breach of Rule D6.3.7.3 – Car failed to be at Pit Exit prior to the proceeding car receiving the green flag to commence its timed lap, the Stewards deleted Car #8’s lap time from the Top Ten Shootout. Matters from Qualifying for Race 24: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations There were no DRD determinations. Saturday 14th September 2019 Matters from Race 23: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations The DRD investigated the incident involving contact between Car 6, Cam Waters, and Car 55, Chaz Mostert, and determined the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards because neither Driver was wholly or predominately to blame for the incident. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed The Stewards imposed the following penalties during Race 23: • A 15 second time penalty on Car 21, Macauley Jones, for a Pit Lane Speeding Infringement (45kph at Pit Entry); • A 15 second time penalty on Car 23, Will Davison, for a Pit Lane Speeding Infringement (45kph at Pit Entry); • A PLP on Car 55, Chaz Mostert, for a Pit Lane Speeding Infringement (52kph at Pit Entry); Following a post-race investigation and an admission by Car 88, Jamie Whincup, of a breach of the Code of Driving Conduct (Schedule 2.2.1 – Careless Driving – causing contact with Car 8, Nick Percat, on Turn 8 on Lap 2), the Stewards imposed a 15 second time penalty on Car 88, Jamie Whincup. Matters from Qualifying for Race 23: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations At the request of Matt Stone Racing, the DRD conducted a post-session investigation into an allegation that Car 3, Garry Jacobson, impeded Car 35, Todd Hazlewood, during the session. The DRD determined the matter did not warrant referral to the Stewards as no breach of the Rules could be established. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed Following a post-session DRD investigation and admission of a breach of Rule D11.7.4 by Racing Team (Aust) Pty Ltd (Car #12’s front right wheel running over its own equipment as leaving its Pit Bay) the Stewards imposed the penalty of a fine of $1,000 on Racing Team (Aust) Pty Ltd. Matters from Practice 3: Deputy Race Director Incident Determinations There were no DRD determinations. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed There were no penalties issued. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed The Stewards imposed a 5 second Time Penalty on Car #12, Fabian Coulthard, for a breach of Article 2.1.1 of Schedule B2 (Careless Driving) following contact between Car #12 and Car #2, Bryce Fullwood, at Turn 14 on Lap 15 as a result of which Car #2 was pushed wide and Car #12 gained a position. Matters from Race 17: Race Director Incident Determinations There were no determinations. Stewards’ Decisions – Penalties imposed The Stewards issued the following Penalties during the Race in each case for a breach of Article 2.1.1 of Shcedule B2 (Careless Driving): - A 5 second Time Penalty on Car #55, Jack le Broq, arising out of an Incident at Turn 6 on Lap 23 when Car #55 locked brakes attempting to overtake Car #15, Rick Kelly, causing contact with Car #15 as a result of which Car #55 gained a position; - A 15 second Time Penalty on Car #25, Chaz Mostert, arising out of an Incident at Turn 1 on Lap 34 when Car #25 made contact with Car #8, Nick Percat, as a result of which Car #8 spun and lost positions; - A 15 second Time Penalty on Car #35, Garry Jacobson, arising out of an Incident at Turn 1 on Lap 37 when Car #35 made contact with Car #3, Macauley Jones, which caused Car #3 to spin.
