Wst ęp „Bibliografia obszaru Natura 2000 „Ostoja Wigierska” jest pierwszym tak obszernym zestawieniem danych bibliograficznych dotycz ących Wigierskiego Parku Narodowego. W bibligrafii zamieszczono prace dotycz ące wszystkich aspektów, co sprawiło, że praca zawiera aż 3544 pozycji. Podzielono je na działy, które wymienione s ą w spisie tre ści. W wi ększo ści przypadków zaklasyfikowanie pozycji do okre ślonego działu nie budziło w ątpliwo ści. Niektóre teksty poruszały jednak wiele zagadnie ń i w takich przypadkach klasyfikowano je do tego działu, którego tematyka była najpełniej odzwierciedlona w danej pracy. Je śli było to niemo żliwe, to pozycj ę umieszczano w dziale „Inne”. W „Bibliografii...” nie uwzgl ędniono tych tekstów, w których Wigierski Park Narodowy i obszar Natura 2000 „Ostoja Wigierska” były potraktowane wył ącznie hasłowo; podobnie post ąpiono ze stronami internetowymi. Opisy bibliograficzne wykonano w systemie harvardzkim. Są one uszeregowane w układzie alfabetycznym według nazwisk autorów lub według tytułów prac zbiorowych (gdy nie ma podanego redaktora). Pierwszym elementem pojedynczego opisu bibliograficznego jest nazwisko i inicjał imienia autora, a bezpo średnio po nim podano: rok wydania publikacji, tytuł, miejsce wydania oraz wydawc ę i ewentualnie inne elementy opisu. Prace jednego autora podano według daty wydania, od najstarszych do najnowszych, a w przypadku powtarzania si ę roku wydania, tytuły poszczególnych publikacji uszeregowano alfabetycznie (np. 2003a, 2003b ...). Je żeli dla kilku dokumentów ta sama osoba była autorem i/lub pierwszym współautorem (przez co kilka opisów bibliograficznych w wykazie literatury zaczyna si ę od tego samego nazwiska), wówczas najpierw podano prace napisane samodzielnie przez tego autora, a nast ępnie prace jego współautorstwa. W pracach zbiorowych jako pierwszy element opisu podano nazwisko redaktora naukowego ze stosownym skrótem red. (w publikacjach obcojęzycznych stosowano skrót ed. lub w przypadku kilku redaktorów: eds. ). Je śli brakowało w źródle nazwy autora lub redaktora pracy zbiorowej, na pierwszym miejscu umieszczano tytuł. W opisach dzieł wydanych za granic ą stosowano pisowni ę stron, numerów i skrótów w j ęzyku tekstu (np. „ W” w j ęz. pol. = „In ” w j ęz. ang., „ s. ” w j ęz. pol. = „ p. ” w j ęz. ang.). W nawiasach kwadratowych „[]” umieszczano wyja śnienia i przypiski autorskie. 3 W przypadku tekstów dost ępnych tylko w wersji elektronicznej w internecie, podano adres URL. W pracy zastosowano nast ępuj ące skróty: Zapis skrótu w pracy w j ęzyku: Rozwini ęcie skrótu polskim angielskim niemieckim red. ed. Hg. redaktor s. p. S. strony [pierwsza i ostatnia strona dokumentu] ss. pp. SS. strony [sumaryczna liczba stron w dokumencie] W: In: In: zawarte w dokumencie głównym t. Vol. B. tom nr no. no. numer [czasopisma] i in. et al. u.a. i inni [autorzy lub redaktorzy] wyd. ed. Aufl. wydawca lub wydanie [zale żnie od kontekstu] Serdecznie dzi ękuj ę wszystkim, którzy pomagali mi w zestawieniu “Bibliografii...”, a szczególnie dr Lechowi Krzysztofiakowi, dr Annie Krzysztofiak i Jarosławowi Borejszo z Wigierskiego Parku Narodowego.     www.nature.com/scientificreports OPEN Causes of variations of trace and rare earth elements concentration in lakes bottom sediments in the Bory Tucholskie National Park, Poland Mariusz Sojka1, Adam Choiński2, Mariusz Ptak2 & Marcin Siepak 2* The objective of this study was to analyse spatial variability of the trace elements (TEs) and rare earth elements (REEs) concentration in lake bottom sediments in Bory Tucholskie National Park (BTNP); Poland. The following research questions were posed: which factors have a fundamental impact on the concentration and spatial variability of elements in bottom sediments, which of the elements can be considered as indicators of natural processes and which are related to anthropogenic sources. The research material was sediments samples collected from 19 lakes. The concentrations of 24 TEs and 14 REEs were determined. The analyses were carried out using the inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-QQQ). Cluster analysis and principal component analysis were used to determine the spatial variability of the TEs and REEs concentrations, indicate the elements that are the indicators of natural processes and identify potential anthropogenic sources of pollution. The geochemical background value (GBV) calculations were made using 13 diferent statistical methods. However, the contamination of bottom sediments was evaluated by means of the index of geo- accumulation, the enrichment factor, the pollution load index, and the metal pollution index. The BTNP area is unique because of its isolation from the infow of pollutants from anthropogenic sources and a very stable land use structure over the last 200 years. This study shows high variability of TE and REE concentrations in lake sediments.

The objective of this study was to determine the tourism carrying capacity on hiking trails in the Szczeliniec Wielki and Błędne Skały. Those attractions are located in the Stołowe Mts. National Park of the Sudetes in the South-Western part of Poland along the border with the Czech Republic. The total area of the Stołowe Mts. NP is 6,340 ha and it contains around 100 km of marked hiking trails. Tourist traffic in the Szczeliniec Wielki and Błędne Skały has its peaks during weekends and holiday periods reaching mass tourism scales. For this reason it is important to establish a clear tourism carrying capacity and to ensure this capacity is not exceeded. In this study, tourism carrying capacity was estimated based on trail width measurements and observations on the visitors' behavior on trails. As a result an optimal distance between the visitors on a hiking trail was determined to be 4 meters of trail length per person. Whether the tourist carrying capacity was exceeded, was determined by calculating an index based on visitor data collected through the Monitoring System of tourist traffic (MStt).

Samples of Pleurozium schreberi were collected from 27 locations in Słowiński National Park in 2002. Cd concentra- tion was determined by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), and Zn, Fe, Ni and Cr concentrations were determined using neutron activation analysis. The results of our research suggest a reduction of heavy metal contamination in the area of Słowiński National Park over the last 27 years and confirmed that the area is one of the cleanest in Poland and may still serve as a reference background for determining pollution in other areas. This expression captures the essence of many of us who feel called to the mountains for their solitude, beauty, and protection. We feel honored to share our love of the mountains with so many visitors (more than 3 million in 2011) and in particular to the hundreds of researchers that carry out their work here. Because of the passion and commitment of so many dedicated researchers and their students, Rocky Mountain National Park is better protected through the knowledge gained by more than 100 research investigations, annually.
