Beijing–Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong High-Speed Railway Beijing–Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong high-speed railway The Beijing–Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong high-speed railway or Beijing– Guangzhou– Shenzhen– Hong Kong Jingguangshengang high-speed railway from its Chinese name is a high-speed railway corridor high-speed railway of the CRH passenger service, connecting Beijingxi Station in Beijing and Futian Station in Shenzhen. 京广深港高速铁路 It crosses the border and follows Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong Express Rail Link Hong Kong section to West Kowloon Station in Hong Kong. It is 2,230 kilometres (1,390 mi) long, and is the only 京廣深港⾼速鐵路 Chinese high-speed railway to cross a border that requires immigration and customs clearance.[1][2][3] The existing, conventional Jingguang railway runs largely parallel to the line. The line forms part of the Beijing–Harbin, Beijing–Hong Kong (Macau) passageway, based on the "Eight Verticals and Eight Horizontals" railway master plan announced in 2016. In most cities served by the high- Technical speed railway, its trains stop at stations built specifically for the new line, which are away from the Line length 2,230 km (1,390 mi) urban core and the city's conventional railway station. In some of the larger cities, it may take more 1 Track 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 ⁄2 in) standard gauge than an hour to ride a bus or taxi from the city centre to the high-speed rail station.[9] gauge Most of the cities involved have improved the public transit access to the new high-speed rail stations, Operating 350 km/h (220 mph) or plan to do so. Guangzhounan Station is already served by Guangzhou Metro and Beijingxi Station speed served by Beijing Metro. Wuhan Station is served by Wuhan Metro's Line 4 and Zhengzhoudong Route map Station by Zhengzhou Metro's Line 1, both of which opened in December 2013, and Shijiazhuang Station by Shijiazhuang Metro's Line 3, opened in June 2017. 0 Beijing West 59 Zhuozhou East Transfers to other rail lines 84 Gaobeidian East Guangzhounan Station and Wuhan Station are designed as hubs for several high-speed railway (HSR) 139 Baoding East lines. Therefore, 323 Gaoyi West direct transfer to conventional (not high-speed) trains is possible only at a few stations along the route. 384 Xingtai East Among them are Beijing West (which is one of the nation's main passenger railway hubs), 437 Handan East Shijiazhuang, Wuhan (which has a few conventional trains, although fewer than the city's two other 496 Anyang East stations, at Hankou and Wuchang), and Guangzhoubei. 542 Hebi East 595 Xinxiang East Yellow River Immigration clearance 663 Zhengzhou East As Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region, the Shenzhen-Hong Kong portion of the high speed Zhengzhou–Xi'an 744 Xuchang East rail passes through an immigration control point. The West Kowloon Terminus was designed to allow 799 Luohe West both Mainland and Hong Kong officials to conduct immigration control in Hong Kong,[10] but for 864 Zhumadian West several years there was an unclear constitutional issue as Mainland officials were thought not to have 917 Minggang East the constitutional authority to enforce Mainland law in Hong Kong.[11][12] In November 2017, the 960 Xinyang East Government of Hong Kong resolved this question by signing the Co-operation Arrangement for 1024 Xiaogan North Implementing Co-location Arrangement, designating a portion of West Kowloon railway station as the Hengdian East "Mainland Port Area" that would be subject to Mainland law.[13] Travelers coming from Hong Kong therefore pass through Mainland immigration and customs clearance before boarding their trains, Hankou allowing direct service to the entire Mainland high-speed rail network without having to stop at the Tianxingzhou Yangtze River Bridge [14] Mainland-Hong Kong border. 1136 Wuhan Wulongquan East Sections 1221 Xianning North 1264 Chibi North Operational lines in the table below are marked with green background. 1346 Yueyang East 1416 Miluo East 1484 Changsha South Shanghai–Kunming Zhuzhou West 1591 Hengshan West 1632 Hengyang East 1687 Leiyang West 1766 Chenzhou West Lechang East 1896 Shaoguan 1966 Yingde West 2023 Qingyuan 2060 Guangzhou North 2105 Guangzhou South Guangzhou–Zhuhai 2136 Qingsheng Shiziyang Tunnel 2155 Humen 2191 Guangmingcheng Hangzhou–Fuzhou–Shenzhen 2208 Shenzhen North 2216 Futian Guangdong Province Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Hong Kong West Kowloon Beijing–Guangzhou–Shenzhen– Hong Kong high-speed railway Simplified Chinese 京广深港高速铁路 Traditional Chinese 京廣深港⾼速鐵路 Transcriptions Standard Mandarin Hanyu Jīngguǎngshēngǎng Gāosù Tiělù Pinyin IPA [tɕíŋ.kwàŋ.ʂə́ n.kàŋ káu.sû tʰjè.lû] Yue: Cantonese IPA [kéŋ.kʷɔ̌ ːŋ.sɐ́m.kɔ̌ ːŋ kóu.tsʰók̚ tʰīːt̚ .lòu] Jyutping ging1gwong2sam1gong2 gou1cuk1 tit3lou6 Designed Top Length Construction Open Section Description speed trip (km) start date date (km/h) speed Beijing–Guangzhou–Shenzhen– HSR Corridor Hong Kong high-speed railway connecting North with Central China, consisting of four See 350 2230 2005-09-01 2018 segments between below Beijing, Shijiazhuang, Wuhan, Guangzhou and Hong Kong. Measurement and Analysis of Walkability in Hong Kong By: Michael Audi, Kathryn Byorkman, Alison Couture, Suzanne Najem ZRH006 Measurement and Analysis of Walkability in Hong Kong An Interactive Qualifying Project Report Submitted to the faculty of the Worcester Polytechnic Institute In partial fulfillment of the requirements for Degree of Bachelor of Science In cooperation with Designing Kong Hong, Ltd. and The Harbour Business Forum On March 4, 2010 Submitted by: Submitted to: Michael Audi Paul Zimmerman Kathryn Byorkman Margaret Brooke Alison Couture Dr. Sujata Govada Suzanne Najem Roger Nissim Professor Robert Kinicki Professor Zhikun Hou ii | P a g e Abstract Though Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour is world-renowned, the harbor front districts are far from walkable. The WPI team surveyed 16 waterfront districts, four in-depth, assessing their walkability using a tool created by the research team and conducted preference surveys to understand the perceptions of Hong Kong pedestrians. Because pedestrians value the shortest, safest, least-crowded, and easiest to navigate routes, this study found that confusing routes, unsafe or indirect connections, and a lack of amenities detract from the walkability in Hong Kong. This report provides new data concerning the walkability in harbor front districts and a tool to measure it, along with recommendations for potential improvements. iii | P a g e Acknowledgements Our team would like to thank the many people that helped us over the course of this project. First, we would like to thank our sponsors Paul Zimmerman, Dr. Sujata Govada, Margaret Brooke, and Roger Nissim for their help and dedication throughout our project and for providing all of the resources and contacts that we required.

  • A Model Layout Region Optimization for Feeder Buses of Rail Transit
Available online at www.sciencedirect.com Procedia - Social and Behavioral Sciences 43 ( 2012 ) 773 – 780 8th International Conference on Traffic and Transportation Studies Changsha, China, August 1–3, 2012 A Model Layout Region Optimization for Feeder Buses of Rail Transit Yucong Hua, Qi Zhanga, Weiping Wangb,* a School of Civil Engineering and Transportation, South China University of Technology, Guangzhou 510640, China b Dongguan Geographic Information & Urban Planning Research Center, Dongguan 523129, China Abstract This paper analyses the characteristics of urban rail transit and conventional buses and then expands on the necessity of combining them. Based on previous studies, a method of laying region and route of urban rail transit feeder buses is proposed. According to the definition of marginal trip distance which is the boundary of choosing a direct bus or rail-feeder bus (transfer is considered here) to destination, the influence of service level on passenger’s choosing behavior is combined with the generalized trip cost in the indirect gravitation-regions of urban rail transit. On this basis, a model for layout region of feeder buses is constructed and an algorithm is proposed. Finally, a numerical example of the joining routine layout between urban rail transit and conventional buses in Baiyun District, Guangzhou City, China is presented to evaluate the model. The result shows that the model with high accuracy is easy to apply, and is the important basis for laying design of feeder buses. © 20122012 PublishedPublished by by Elsevier Elsevier B.V. Ltd.
