Anahtar Sözcükler: Kosova, Balkan, Din Değiştirme, Misyonerlik Faaliyetleri, savaş, Tarihi Önyargı. iv ABSTRACT Autor : İlir RAHİMİ University : UludagUniversity Institution : Institute of Philosophy and Religious Sciences Characteristic of : Master DegreeThesis Thesis Dicipine : Psychology of Religion Page Number : xii + 158 Degree Date :……/…../2013 Supervisor (s) : Assoc. Prof. İbrahim GÜRSES PSYCHO SOCIOLOGICAL CONVERTING FACTORS İN KOSOVA Both in the past and nowdays, people are bound to converting religion which is a common phenomenon of any country that has gone through transition. As well as individual conversion events which took place in the various forms of massivness, also due to various reasons and is also a well known fact. Examining the psycho-social factors that affect change of religion for a long time people of Kosova remaining under the influence of communism-socialism began paying less attention to religion. Kosova, is a country where Muslims constitute the majority of population where most of that majority consists of young generations. Today as in the past, still negative attitudes towards Islam and opposing the Islamic religion and the activities is in continuity. According to our awareness, if you do not comply with the culture of that country than that country regime controls and many negative effects may continue occuring. Kosova is an example of that country. As in ancient times still occuring the same politics or methods now days. Immediately after the war ended in Kosova; NATO, UNMIK, OSCE, UNHCR were established as well as many other associations and organizations. As a result of destruction of cities and the loss of human lives after the war, lot of people experienced a major trauma in Kosovo. Although we have met a lot of these associations and organizations, other hidden mission activities began to be established. Poverty and helplessness of people of Kosova have taken advantage of this v environment, the foreign missions found people of our country as an opportunity of beganning to make experiments. Majority of families-had lost their relatives, siblings, parents during the war. This was a golden opportunity for those missions. Key Words: Kosova, Balkans, Conversion, Apostasy, Missionary. vi ÖNSÖZ Gerek geçmişte gerekse günümüzde insanların, bağlı oldukları dini terk ederek bir başka dine geçmeleri ara sıra gözlenen bir sosyal olaydır. Student Movements: 1968, 1981 and 1997 The impact of students in mobilizing society to chant for the Republic of Kosovo Atdhe Hetemi Thesis submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of East European Languages and Cultures Supervisor Prof. dr. Rozita Dimova Department of East European Languages and Cultures Dean Prof. dr. Gita Deneckere Rector Prof. dr. Rik Van de Walle October 2019 i English Summary This dissertation examines the motives and central visions of three student demonstrations, each taking place within different historical and political contexts and each organized by a different generation of Kosovo Albanian students. The years 1968, 1981 and 1997 witnessed a proliferation of student mobilizations as collective responses demanding more national rights for Albanians in Kosovo. I argue that the students' main vision in all three movements was the political independence of Kosovo. Given the complexity of the students' goal, my analysis focuses on the influence and reactions of domestic and foreign powers vis-à-vis the University of Prishtina (hereafter UP), the students and their movements. Fueled by their desire for freedom from Serbian hegemony, the students played a central role in "preserving" and passing from one generation to the next the vision of "Republic" status for Kosovo. Kosova Republikë or the Republic of Kosovo (hereafter RK) status was a demand of all three student demonstrations, but the students' impact on state creation has generally been underestimated by politicians and public figures. Thus, the primary purpose of this study is to unearth the various and hitherto unknown or hidden roles of higher education – then the UP – and its students in shaping Kosovo's recent history.

Kosovo Nora Sefa interviewed Rexhep Qosja Interview date: 15 January 2020 Sefa: We’re here today with Professor Rexhep Qosja at the Albanological Institute in Pristina. Professor Qosja, thank you for having me and for finding the time for this meeting. Qosja: Welcome to the Albanological Institute. It is an honour for me to be included in the European Archive of Voices. Sefa: I am Nora, and I’ll be your interviewer today. Let’s start with some questions, we have various topics to cover and the first, Professor, is to ask about your origins, your home, where you were born, your childhood. You were born in the village of Vuthaj in Montenegro, an Albanian enclave, which I believe still exists today. What was your childhood like, do you remember it well? Qosja: I was born in the village of Vuthaj. According to Eqrem Çabej [Albanian linguist, 1908-1980], the name of this village is derived from the Albanian words vu or vëne, the location where they were “placed,” meaning where some people who came from Kelmend were placed, and where they “settled.” The village is on the border with Albania. Actually, it is a village that belongs to the Valley of Plav and Guci [or Plav-Gusinje Valley]. This valley has two small towns which played a historic role at the time of the League of Prizren, a unique historic role at that time. During the time of the League of Prizren, which gathered in the town of Prizren, in Kosovo, the Valley of Plav and Guci had their own representative in the League.

  • Kosova: Meta-Textual Literature
Kosova: meta-textual literature Kosova: meta-textual literature Vehbi Miftari∗ Abstract The aim of the text Kosova: meta-textual literature is the literary criticism conducted in Kosova, as part of the Albanian literary criticism and, further, the Albanian literature in general. Therefore, the environmental determination "Kosova" does not intend to affect the status of the Albanian literature, as it forms, by stressing the common features, as much as the specifics of its development. As already known, the context in which literary criticism was developed in Kosova, especially during the second half of XX century, is different from context of this literature in Albania, although by the end of the 60s it remained associated with, however to a moderate extent. Its textualtiy, meanwhile, affects the types, forms and methods, as well as different genres of discourses. It recognizes the academic criticism, the criticism of writers, and the critical project, as forms of criticism. Our research here recognizes and seeks models and representative authors, meaning a number of texts and authors. Key words: lauded model, critical model, modern awareness about criticism, contextuality and textuality of criticism, forms and methods, authors and basic texts. Albanian meta-textual literature (Contextuality and textualtiy) Modernization (original and not because of the method it is called transcendental modernism) in Albanian literature is the over passing of literature of national lauds to literary criticism, above all in the critical and satirical texts of Faik Konica. Consequently, it transforms the signs of national into ∗ Dr. Vehbi Miftari, Faculty of Philology, Department of Journalism, University of Prishtina, Republic of Kosova, [email protected].
