“The Solution Before the Problem 40:28-31 Tuesday Lunch June 6, 2017

Introduction: The Bible says that God’s ways are not our ways (:8-9). For example, when we have a problem, we seek a solution. God gives the solution before the problem.

The is an example. God inspired the prophet Isaiah to write his book about 100 years before the Jewish people had the problem. He gave the solution in advance of the problem.

• In chapters 1-39, Isaiah condemned the sins of and warned of the coming judgment.

• In chapters 40-66, Isaiah prophesied Judah’s deliverance from .

• When Isaiah wrote it, they did not know what he was talking about. When the need came (Babylonian captivity), the solution God had given the made sense.

Text: Isaiah 40: 28-31

• Those who “wait” on God denotes:

1. Patient, praying, trusting, believers

2. Hope, expectation

3. Trust God’s plan, provision, and timing

When the problem came, (Babylonian captivity), the Jewish people had the solution. When we face our “Babylonian captivities,” we also have the solution.

1. When the crises come, we will have renewed strength to mount up with wings like eagles (40:31).

• Life has its crises.

• But all of life is not a crisis.

• When they come, if we are “waiting” on God, we will mount up with wings like eagles.

2. When extra is required, we will have renewed strength to run and not be weary.

• From time to time, extra is required.

• In our strength, we will faint more than we will not faint.

• If God is our strength, we will “run and not be weary.”

3. When the daily things seem to pile up, we will have renewed strength.

• We will “walk” and faint not. The word “walk” in the Bible refers to daily life.

• It is not the crises or the extra that gets us most of the time.

• It is the daily grind.

• In your strength, daily things will weary you.

Conclusion: Most people are tired. I hear it every day. People wake up tired. People at work are tired. People everywhere are tired. There is a solution. Live with God’s strength and you will see the difference. I saw that difference this morning visiting Pasadena Community Ministries.
