Joint Performance Improvement Update Period 1 (2018-19) This report gives progress on the joint improvement plan for Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) and Network Rail with punctuality data by route, as well as the main operational issues in the period (there are 13, 4-week reporting periods per year), and planned customer improvements. PPM* statistics and delay responsibility by route – Period 1 (to 28 April 2018) Gatwick Express Great Northern Southern Thameslink *The public performance measure (PPM) data above shows the percentage of trains which arrive at their terminating station within five minutes of the planned arrival time. It combines figures for punctuality and reliability into a single performance measure. A summary of key issues affecting performance in this period In period 1, GTR’s PPM was 85.2% with the main incidents affecting performance being the emergency services dealing with incidents near South Croydon on 7 and 19 April, these services dealing with an incident near Cricklewood on 3 April, a track circuit failure near Hornsey on 19 April and a vehicle striking a bridge near East Croydon on 11 April. The PPM for each of the brands for this period was: Gatwick Express 79.01%, Great Northern 87.33%, Southern 83.49% and Thameslink 89.33%. Delivering improvements for passengers Thameslink Class 700s There are 71 class 700 trains in regular service between Brighton and London Bridge or Bedford; between Wimbledon, Sutton, St Albans and Luton; on the Sevenoaks route and between Horsham / Littlehampton and London. Performance Strategy Huge investment is being put into the railway which will ultimately deliver more capacity through new and longer trains at the end of the Thameslink programme in 2018, as well as a transformed station at London Bridge. -

The proposal Demolition of the existing buildings and redevelopment of the site to provide two buildings of between 4 and 14 storeys in height comprising 174 residential units (Use Class C3) and 160 sqm flexible B1 floorspace, including the provision of private and communal amenity areas, child play space, secure cycle parking, car parking, refuse and recycling storage areas and other associated development. The applicant The applicant is Fairview New Homes Limited and the architect is Formation Architects. Strategic issues summary: Land use: redevelopment of underused industrial site for residential-led development use is supported in regeneration area (paras 13-15). Housing: 174 units proposed. Affordable housing offer has been made of 32% by habitable room, split 60:40 affordable rent to shared ownership. Viability information is being reviewed (paras 24-27). Design: Improvements required to justify tall buildings and high density development. (paras 28-32). Climate Change: Carbon reduction target met; further information required on overheating analysis (paras 35-47). Transport: proposals are acceptable; conditions and section 106 obligations required (paras 54-65). Recommendation That Haringey Council be advised that whilst the application is generally acceptable in strategic planning terms it does not fully comply with the London Plan for the reasons set out in paragraph 70 of this report. -

This document describes our Penalty Fares Scheme for the purposes of rule 3.2 b. 1.2 We have decided to introduce a Penalty Fares Scheme because the previous operator of the railway passenger services comprised of the Thameslink Great Northern franchise, First Capital Connect and Southern Railways, operated a Penalty Fares Scheme in such franchise area and the experience has proved that it is an efficient means to deter ticketless travel. In addition, once some Southeastern routes and stations are integrated into the TSGN franchise from 14 December 2014 and once the entire current Southern franchise is integrated into the TSGN franchise on 26th July 2015, it is important that there is consistency across all franchise areas (as Southeastern and Southern both also operate a Penalty Fares Scheme); so as to avoid causing confusion for our passengers. This scheme will now include all stations under schemes previously operated by Govia Thameslink Railway Limited and Southern Railway Limited. -

Christmas Becomes 'Cricklemas' As Town Team Bring Festive Cheer to Thameslink Station
Silent night, Holy Cow! The Cricklewood Town Team have brought a festive smile to passengers at their local station Dec 02, 2019 15:52 GMT Christmas becomes 'Cricklemas' as Town Team bring festive cheer to Thameslink station The community group 'Cricklewood Town Team' have been busy adding festive cheer to the fantastic artwork they have installed over the years at Thameslink's station to raise its profile. Tinsel and a Santa's hat now festoon the colourful cow, while Christmas lights adorn the large 'Cricklewood' sign, all of were designed and installed by local artist Alistair Lambert. There are even two living Christmas trees and more tinsel around Alistair's sheep who 'graze' in Cricklewood Lane nearby (see pictures below). Marie Hancock, one of the Town Team members, said: "We're so pleased with the result. When we were putting up the decorations people stopped to chat or smile and take a photo and wanted to help and join in some festive cheer." Thameslink's Corporate Social Responsibility Manager Katherine Cox said: "Once again Marie and her team at Cricklewood have gone the extra mile to make our town station fun and inviting for the community. It's very moo-ving what they have done!" Cricklewood station is in the first tranche of stations that will receive a station improvement under Govia Thameslink Railway's (GTR's) Passenger Benefit Fund. GTR is working with Cricklewood Town Team and NorthWestTWO residents' association and various partners including Network Rail on schemes to be delivered by the end of 2021. These projects will add to the many improvements made since 2016 when the Town Team adopted the station which resulted in several awards for Cricklewood. -
