Madrid, August 4th 1971- Maestro Arthur Rubinstein, "Rocío de Maguelles", La Ruda, MARBELLA, Málaga.
Dear Maestro,
This afternoon I had the pleasure of speaking with your wife concerning
your availability for concerts in Spain during the coming season; as
she did not have your schedule in front of her at the time, it was
suggested that I should write to check< up on a telephone you
It seems that the first possible free time is early December on your
return from a short visit to the States and if you would like to come
to Spain at that time for a few concerts, we could very probably arrange
BiIbao, PampIona and San Sebastian during the week December 6 - 10. You
will remember that the 8th is fiesta here. Then, you could return in
March/April 1972 (avoiding March 27 - April 2, Holy Week) for a'Ionger
tour at which time we could probably include Madrid and Barcelona. If
you would like to play in Barcelona in December, I am sure this can be
arranged.
In other words, the possibilities here are endless - everything depends
on how much time you can spare us and where you would like to play. k P i anos: In Bilbao there is a choice of two Steinways (neither of these is Ky; over/....

The Steinway in Pamplona was a bit hard two years ago, it is a new one, but maybe it has softened a bit by now; I understand that San Sebastian has a good
Steinway. I do not know whether you think it worth your while to have a piano travelling with you for three or four recitals - it would certainly make life more agreeable for you.
As I must leave the office For a couple of weeks on Teesday evening,
I hope to speak with you about all this before then. When I was last in touch with Calpe,Don Ernesto asked me to send you a special "fuerte abrazo" on his behalf.
I hope you are enjoying your summer holiday.
With many affectionate greetings.
Yours sincerely, AK ('QU? 11P (AG V Annabelle Whitestone, CONCIERTOS DANIEL.
P.S. It is very kind of you to have agreed to my request concerning Mr. Ros-Marba. As this new brochure is really intended for use in the outside world I think it will be sufficient if the text is in English. Do you think something like "Mr. Ros-Marba is a highly gifted musician and conductor - it is always a joy to collaborate with him" A.R., would be about right?
