The International Council (ICC) is known as the global governing body of cricket. In 1909, the Imperial Cricket Conference came into existence by representatives from , England and . Later in 1965, it was renamed as the International Cricket Conference and took up its current name in 1989. The ICC has total of 105 members out of which 12 Full Members play Test Matches and rest 93 are the Associate Members. The Board of Directors is headed by the Chairman. On 26 June 2014, N.Srinivasan was announced as the first chairman of the council. Currently Manu Sawhney is the CEO of ICC. He was also the former CEO of Singapore Sports Hub and Managing Director of ESPN Star Sports (ESS) who succeeded David Richardson. In ICC 2018, Virat Kohli was the unanimous choice of the elite panel for the Sir Trophy. With his overwhelming performance he won three ICC Awards- Test Cricketer of the Year, ODI Cricketer of the Year and Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for Cricketer of the Year Awards and made a clean sweep. It is the 2nd time in succession that he has won the award of ODI Cricketer of the Year and Cricketer of the year.
