Bandara completed a four-wicket haul and his 7.3 overs cost him just 22 runs. Chasing a paltry target, Trinity were given an early scare as wicket- keeper Lasitha Abeyratne had opener Niroshan Dikwella stumped off the bowling of Niroshan Ileperuma for just one run in the second over. But, when Keheliya Athugoda and Heshan Wanniarachchi chipped in with 27 and 22 runs respectively, Trinity had almost booked their berth in the final. Trinity reached the target for the loss of four wickets with as many as 19 overs to spare. The match was played as a 43 overs-a-side affair, after wet ground conditions delayed the start. Now, Trinity will meet St. Joseph’s College in the final on September 10 at the same venue. Scores: D.S. A CATHOLIC ALL BOYS’ DAY & BOARDING COLLEGE IN THE EDMUND RICE TRADITION Reception to Year 12 ROSTREVOR MAGAZINE APRIL 2017 Why Rostrevor? With Eric Mercer Casey and Colby’s Dad Financial Planner Why did you choose Rostrevor for your boys? Initially it was the sense of tradition, I didn’t go here, I’m not an old scholar. I had friends that went here, heard a lot of great things: big open spaces and lots of opportunities. Both of my boys are into sport so it just ticked all of the right boxes. If you asked your sons what they liked about Rostrevor what would they say? Probably not in their words but a sense of belonging and a sense of brotherhood; it is a boys school but there is something special about it, boys really connect and bond forming great friendships which is not something found at most schools. How have you found the community? Very close and very involved. As a new parent coming in you are of course a little apprehensive not knowing anyone, but everyone welcomes you in and you in turn become involved in the school. It’s very close, everyone pitches in, it’s a very tight-knit community. What does See Further mean to you? See Further means to me vision, having a plan and working towards it, the opportunity they have, where essentially they can be anything they want to be. What has surprised you about Rostrevor? The down to earth community feel; everyone is really involved in the school a lot more then we initially felt, everyone is really approachable from the principal through to teachers and parents.

10 | SPORT | RUGBY S1 Sunday Independent 6 March 2016 Always check the background The 70 so-called experts lack the qualifications or experience to dictate to us about rugby injuries NEIL FRANCIS HIS one is about failure in the media, more specifically failure to question. I read the financial press every day. On a regular basis TI come across articles where I am told that some Gordon Gekko-type hedge fund principal or financier tells us he is really worried and he thinks sterling will devalue by two or three per cent in the next month. The explanations as to why this will happen are somewhat plausible but please . no panic. There is no byline, no author, and no references — nothing under the piece to suggest any attribution. We have no idea where it came from or who penned it. It just appeared. There is nothing to substantiate it or no counter-argument or editorial to challenge it. So we read it and repeat it to our mates. I see Gordon Gekko says sterling will devalue by two or three per cent in the next month. It then becomes a fact. What is indisputable is that it is a self-fulfilling prophecy. The boys have all short positions in place and when the forest fire starts, they collect. A month later we are all blown away. That fella Gordon Gekko is a bloody genius. Put something out there in the newspaper and if nobody checks or challenges it, well then it is a fact. Wednesday evening came slowly and my editor calls.
