Erica Huss is the 21st warden of the facility and has spent 23 years of her career with the Michigan Department of Corrections. She was appointed to the position following the promotion of former Erica warden Robert Napel, a Wakefield Huss native, to assistant deputy director for the Correctional Facilities Administra- tion of the Michigan DOC. Napel joined the MDOC in 1978 as a corrections officer, and has held a number of positions, including assis- tant resident unit manager, resident unit manager, assistant deputy warden and deputy warden. He became war- den of Marquette Branch Prison in 2010.
