  • Crossover Sexual Offenses. Abstract
    Crossover sexual offenses. Heil P1, Ahlmeyer S, Simons D. Abstract Crossover sexual offenses are defined as those in which victims are from multiple age, gender, and relationship categories. This study investigates admissions of crossover sexual offending from sex offenders participating in treatment who received polygraph testing. For 223 incarcerated and 266 paroled sexual offenders, sexual offenses were recorded from criminal history records and admissions during treatment coupled with polygraph testing. The majority of incarcerated offenders admitted to sexually assaulting both children and adults from multiple relationship types. In addition, there was a substantial increase in offenders admitting to sexually assaulting victims from both genders. In a group of incarcerated offenders who sexually assaulted children, the majority of offenders admitted to sexually assaulting both relatives and nonrelatives, and there was a substantial increase in the offenders admitting to assaulting both male and female children. Although similar trends were observed for the sample of parolees, the rates were far less dramatic. Parolees appeared to have greater levels of denial, had participated in fewer treatment sessions, and perceived greater supervision restrictions as a result of admitting additional offenses. These findings support previous research indicating that many sexual offenders do not exclusively offend against a preferred victim type. Multiple Paraphilic Diagnoses among Sex Offenders Gene G. Rouleau, PhD The psychiatric literature suggests that paraphiliacs can be expected to partic- ipate in only one type of deviant sexual behavior. Using self-reports gathered with assured confidentiality from 561 nonincarcerated paraphiliacs, we discovered that most paraphiliacs have had significant experience with as many as ten different types of deviant sexual behavior without regard, in many cases, to gender, age, and familial relationship of the victim.

Purpose of the study: I am a Ph.D. student from University of Pune, Pune. I am working on “<4 Study of Condom Non Use by Brothel Based Female Sex Workers in Budhwarpeth, Pune- An Anthropological Perspective". The objective of this study is to gain knowledge on brothel based female sex workers attitudes towards condom use what she exactly feel about condom use. The study will try to understand what are her knowledge about condoms and to gain a deeper insight into the difficulties and barriers she is facing in condom use with all of her clients. This study would help in better understanding of sexual behavior of brothel based female sex workers through their emic view which would be helpful in planning future intervention strategies for female sex workers to prevent HIV/AIDS The results of this survey will be used only for my Ph.D. thesis submission. Fighting the Conformity that Kills ABSTRACT This paper examines ways to empower disenfranchised black gay/MSM who have developed successful strategies for remaining HIV-negative by not conforming to the anal-sex norm. It looks at the development of that norm and how customs, social forces and ASOs reinforce it. These practices become more visible as scores of sex offenders are placed in correctional institutions through- out the United States. Sex offenders in prisons currently number more than 234,000 (Bureau of Justice Statistics, 2004). The preponderance of those offenders are involved in rape and other violent sex crimes. Rosenfield (1985), for example, found that 62% of sex offenders in a prison sample revealed deviant sexual acts other than those for which they were sent to prison. This position will be reinforced by other stud- ies we will cite later in this chapter. They admitted to sex acts such as incest, frottage, voyeurism, and bestiality. Sexual acts that cause no obvious physical harm to the practitioner or the victim we term nuisance sex behaviors.     ABSTRACT Title of Dissertation: ‘THAT WASN’T JUST A PARTY:’ RECONSIDERING THE PLAYS OF ROBERT CHESLEY Rebecca Lynn Gavrila, Doctor of Philosophy, 2014 Dissertation Directed by: Dr. Faedra Chatard Carpenter School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies “That Wasn’t Just A Party: Reconsidering The Plays of Robert Chesley” is a reclamation project that is placing Robert Chesley as a significant voice of Gay and Sexual Liberation in the Post-Stonewall gay theatrical canon. As the majority of his plays were both unproduced and unpublished, this project serves to introduce a contemporary, mainstream audience to the dramatic writings of Robert Chesley. Chesley is best known for writing the first full-length AIDS play to be produced in the United States, Night Sweats. Unlike his contemporaries, Larry Kramer and William Hoffman, Chesley never saw his work cross-over into the commercial mainstream in part because of his commitment to staging graphic gay sex scenes. Sadly, Robert Chesley would become a victim of the AIDS crisis, dying in 1990. The political and artistic ideologies represented by Chesley’s works are currently under-acknowledged within the gay American theatre canon. By exploring Robert Chesley and the way his work addressed the ideals of Sexual Liberation I am contributing to the discourse of gay cultural criticism and gay theatre history.
