Naming of Official Newspapers RESOLVED: that the newly organized Board of Education names The Ridgewood News, The Record and The Star Ledger as official newspapers in which to advertise Board notices. MOVED SECONDED VOTE APPOINTMENTS 1. School Business Administrator/Board Secretary RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education appoints Kyle J. Bleeker as the Business Administrator/Board Secretary for the period January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017. FURTHER RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education appoints Kyle J. Bleeker as Qualified Purchasing Agent duly assigned the authority, responsibility, and accountability for the purchasing of the Board and having the power to prepare advertisements, advertise and prepare bids, and to award contracts pursuant to 18A:18A-3-a (bid threshold), 18A:18A-37a (quotation), and 18A:18A-7a (emergency purchases). FURTHER RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education maintains the bid threshold at $40,000 for the Qualified Purchasing Agent. MOVED SECONDED VOTE 2. School Board Attorney RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education appoints the law firm of Schwartz, Simon, Edelstein & Celso, LLC of Whippany, New Jersey to serve as legal counsel for the school district for special education, labor negotiations and other legal matters on an as needed basis from January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017, at the hourly rate of $187.69 per hour for partner and counsel, $176.65 per hour for senior associates, $121.44 per hour for law clerks, and $110.40 per hour for paralegals. MOVED SECONDED VOTE 3. School Board Attorney RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education appoints the law firm of Schenck, Price, Smith & King, LLP of Florham Park, New Jersey to serve as legal counsel for the school district from January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017, at the hourly rate of $180 per hour for partner and counsel, $170 per hour for senior associates, $165 per hour for junior associates, $120 per hour for law clerks, and $110 per hour for paralegals. School Board Attorney – for Region I Northeast Bergen Council for Special Education RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education appoints the law firm of Fogarty & Hara of Fair Lawn, New Jersey to serve as legal counsel for the Region I Northeast Bergen Council for Special Education from January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017, at the hourly rate of $175 per hour for partner and $155 per hour for associates. MOVED SECONDED VOTE 5. Treasurer of School Monies RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education appoints Kenneth Sesholtz as Treasurer of School Monies through December 31, 2017. MOVED SECONDED VOTE 6. Auditors RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education appoints T.M. Vrabel and Associates, LLC of Denville, New Jersey, as auditors for the 2016-2017 school year at a total fee of $32,900. MOVED SECONDED VOTE 7. District Architect RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education appoints Tokarski Millemann Architects, LLC, Brick, New Jersey, as a district architect through December 31, 2017 for the purpose of additions, alterations, and improvements. MOVED SECONDED VOTE 8. School Physician RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education appoints Dr. Everett Schlam as the school physician for the 2016-2017 school year. MOVED SECONDED VOTE 9. Insurance Consultant – Risk Manager RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education appoints the firm of PIA McCarthy Forde of Carlstadt, New Jersey, as insurance consultant and risk manager for the Mahwah Board of Education through December 31, 2017. Title IX Coordinator RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education appoints Dennis Fare, Assistant Superintendent, Administrative Offices, 60 Ridge Road, Mahwah, New Jersey, 201-762-2405, as Title IX Coordinator for the 2017 school year. District Anti-Bullying Coordinator RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education appoints Lisa Rizzo, Director of Special Services, Administrative Offices, 60 Ridge Road Mahwah, New Jersey, 201-762-2283, to the position of District Anti-Bullying Coordinator for the 2017 school year. Abused, Neglected, Missing, and Homeless Children Liaison RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education appoints Lisa Rizzo, Director of Special Services, Administrative Offices, 60 Ridge Road, Mahwah, New Jersey, 201-762-2283, to the position of Abused, Neglected, Missing, and Homeless Children Liaison for the 2017 school year. Section 504 Compliance Officer RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education appoints Dennis Fare, Assistant Superintendent, Administrative Offices, 60 Ridge Road, Mahwah, New Jersey, 201-762-2405, as Section 504 Compliance Officer for the 2017 school year. MOVED SECONDED VOTE APPROVALS 1. Depository of School Funds RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education authorizes the Business Administrator to use the TD Bank, JP Morgan Chase Bank, and New Jersey Cash Management for deposit of school funds and continues the practice of having the Board President, Treasurer of School Monies, and Board Secretary as those persons authorized to sign school warrants. Signature Facsimiles RESOLVED: that the Mahwah Board of Education's practice of using facsimile signatures, for the purpose of signing checks, be continued for the Board President, Treasurer of School Monies, and Board Secretary.
