Shiva Linga - Form in Which Paramashiva Is Worshipped 24 Shiva Linga - Form in which Paramashiva is Worshipped As per tradition, the Sarvajnapeetha at Kancheepuram was established during the previous "ice age". The "ice age" happened when Goddess Parasakthi in a playful mood closed both eyes of Paramashiva. With the eyes of Paramashiva - which power the Sun and the Moon respectively - being closed, the Earth was pushed into a period of deluge and extinction. Paramashiva out of his compassion, then opened his Third eye through which life was restored on planet earth. As a penance (prayaschitta) for this act, Goddess Parashakti took a Human form and did intense Tapas in this very city of Kancheepuram as Goddess Kamakshi who is still worshiped there in a big way. All Rights Reserved. 31 Statements such as "Sanatana Hindu Dharma is eternal" have been used by the anti Hindu forces to put Hindus to sleep. Hinduism maybe eternal but it can disappear from a geography. Not long ago Hinduism was the state religion of 56 Nations. Countries like Kandahar (Afghanistan), Sindh (Pakistan), Burma, Cambodia, Malaysia, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Kashmir, Bangladesh and Indonesia which were all Hindu countries not so long ago are now completely lost to it. From the glorious time when 56 nations and 200 states 17000 provinces and 10000 sampradayas which consisted of 85% of the population, we came to a situation in 2017 where there was not even a single state practicing Hinduism as the state religion leave alone protecting the interests of the Hindus. Less than 15% of the population today identify themselves as Hindus and even fewer practice it. Without political legitimacy, slowly Hinduism will fade away into history. Hindus need to become Kshatriyas and must stand up to © 2019 Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam. All Rights Reserved. 32 support Hindu Dharma with great urgency. We have to come together or perish. Either we stand up and protect Sanatana Hindu Dharma or you will be talking to your grandson about some religion called Hinduism which gave us so much but is now extinct. In Sanatana Hindu Dharma, losing of physical land is not just equivalent to the loss of some property. As the land is lost, along with it go all the scriptures, all the traditions, all the priests, the whole ecosystem for enlightenment associated with that place. When the lands of the Multani Madi (current day Pakistan) were lost, the headquarters of Atal Akhada - the oldest recorded Hindu organisation - itself was lost and along with it, the Ganapati Sampradaya. The Sharada Peetha established by Shankaracharya in Kashmir was the original Sarvajnapeetha (all-knowing seat of Sanatana Hindu Dharma) and the center of the Shankaracharya Mutts. Today, this Moolamnaya Peetha is lost and only its branches in India remain, the very memory of the Moolamnaya Peetha having been erased. For Sanatana Hindu Dharma, the size of the lands lost is equivalent to the number of Sampradayaas lost. We have been reduced from over 10,000 thriving Sampradayas to less than 200 surviving Sampradayas now. His Divine Holiness Bhagwan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam has incarnated at this crucial moment in time to revive the ancient Hindu civilization, and along with it the science of enlightenment. This is in fulfilment of a divine promise. Kamakshi being the principal Goddess in Kanchipuram, the Siva temples here have no separate sanctum for Shakti. Ekambareswara temple: Sri Ekambareswara is worshipped in the form of Prithvi Lingam (Earth). Hence Kanchipuram is considered as one of the Pancha Bhutha Sthalas. According to a legend, Parvati, once in Kailas, playfully closed the eyes of Lord Siva, plunging the entire world in darkness. An angry Siva cursed the Devi to turn dark like Kali.

    PREVENTION OF FEMICIDE A REPORT BY THE ASMT HINDU COMMUNITY APRIL 2021 Introduction 1. The human rights situation for women and children in India1 is abysmal2. Despite tremendous public outcry3 against crimes against women and children such as rape, sexual violence, gender- based harassment, and female infanticide happen unabated in India. The State of the Republic of India has been either unwilling or unable to curtail these crimes. India is the most dangerous country for sexual violence against women, according to the Thomson Reuters Foundation 2018 survey.4 According to the National Crimes Records Bureau, the rape of minor girls increased by 82% in the year 2016 compared with the previous year.5 2. Sexual violence and brutal rape have been weaponized against minority women and children by extremist militant elements at the highest levels of governance. This weaponization of sexual violence targeting women and children is part of a more pervasive and systematic campaign targeting certain indigenous spiritual traditions, minority communities, and their leaders,6 especially those from linguistic and religious minority groups, and of dark-skinned people of indigenous spiritual traditions, and of ethnic native-Hindu tribes that have existed in India for millennia.7 One such indigenous spiritual tradition currently targeted for extermination by the Neo-Hindutva8 extremist militants is the Hindu Adi Shaiva Minority Tradition (“ASMT”) in India. The women, children, and young girls of the ASMT community were the most vulnerable target of the Neo-Hindutva extremism. 3. The ASMT explicitly rejects extremism of all types. The extremist militant elements are opposed9 to ASMT’s stance when it comes to the rights of women10, including otherwise marginalized Dalit women, and the rights of members of the LGBTQ+ and transgendered communities11.

Key Words: Kanchipuram, Temple, Linga & Historical Introduction: Kanchipuram was called “kanchiyur” in the Sangam period, using the Tamil word “ur” rather than the Sanscrit “pura”, both of which mean “town”. Sometimes during the early medieval period, it was also named “Kacci”, Both terms “kanchi” and “kacci” as a name for the town, and they both probably evoke a woman’s belt or girdle. The “Kanchipurana”, a Sanscrit text about the town’s legends, contains a verse explaining that the city corresponds to the navel of the Goddess, which is under her girdle (kanchi).
