These payments depend on the number of village children going to the schools, varying approximately from 630 to 1,000€ per child per year. For the year 2017/2018 there are 5 children from Montmaurin registered in Cardeilhac, 1 in the school in Boulogne, 1 in Blajan school and 1 at ND de Garaison. There are other contributions such as those paid until now to the body managing the Save and its tributaries, responsibility for which now lies with the intecommunality Coeur et Coteaux du Comminges. Consequently the village will no longer have to pay this annual contribution of 2.380€. On the other hand, with the establishment of the GEMAPI (which manages waterways and the prevention of flooding) on 1January 2018, the compulsory responsibility lies with the intercommunalities. The GEMAPI tax will be levied with the local taxes paid by tax payers. It should not exceed 10€ per household per year according to the syndicate and the Communauté de Communes Coeur et Coteaux de Comminges. According to the NOTRe law the responsibility for “Water and Sewage” lies with the intercommunality as from 1 January 2020. We can expect that the villages pay to the intercommunalities compensation for the transferred responsibilities (according to the financial and fiscal agreement which should be proposed and voted on soon by the Communauté de Communes).
