Mechatronics Prototype Engineer This is a position that combines design, fabrication, instrumentation, and experimentation. You will work with a cross-disciplinary team to facilitate rapid exploration of novel mechatronic ideas. You will be responsible for taking whiteboard sketches to experimental hardware, assisting senior engineers in the prototyping process, and being a jack-of-all trades across the mechatronic HW/SW stack. Responsibilities: Quick turn design of mechanical prototypes, including Solidworks design, 3D printing, light machining, assembly, and mechanical debug Design, build, and implement experimental test hardware including instrumentation integration, fixture design, and system debug. Hardware system bring up, including lightweight SW integration and debug Parts drawings and vendor management for machined components and PCBA assemblies Rapid bring-up, test, and validation of mechatronic systems Minimum Qualifications: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields Five years of engineering experience rapid prototyping of mechatronic systems Ability to design, fabricate, and build moderately complex mechanical systems Experience with Arduino, 3D Printing, Raspberry Pi, and other Maker tools Lab experience including oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer use Highly resourceful, creative problem solver who is comfortable in a dynamic environment Nice to have qualifications: MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields Ability to design, layout, and bring up moderately complex digital / analog PCBAs Ability to code and debug lightweight embedded systems Experience with Matlab and related engineering tools
Embedded Systems Engineer job responsibilities include: Develop advanced prototype hardware and firmware for embedded robotic systems Design electronic circuits and create schematics including use of SoCs and FPGAs Work with internal groups and external suppliers to develop embedded systems that incorporate electro-mechanical hardware and software Implement algorithms to control robotic motion and integrate sensor data streams Work in the lab to bring-up, test and validate physical hardware and software algorithms Qualifications: MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields 5 years of engineering experience including embedded software and systems design Ability to design, implement and test algorithms in embedded systems 1 - 3 years of experience with digital and analog circuit design Excellent C/C++ programming abilities Experience generating board schematics, layouts using CAD tools (Altium designer) Lab experience including oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer use Highly resourceful, creative problem solver who is comfortable in a dynamic environment Nice to have Qualifications: PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields Experience with power electronics (e.g. filter, amplifier, ADC) design Wireless and low power design experience Interest in advanced concepts such as AI and machine learning
