FAMILY OF HONORED AS PART OF HOMETOWN HALL OF FAMER™ PROGRAM PRESENTED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY LIFE OF LEGENDARY CELEBRATED AT HIGH SCHOOL ALMA MATER IN FOLEY, ALA.

FOLEY, ALA. - The Pro Football Hall of Fame and Ford Motor Company paid tribute to Ken Stabler at his high school alma mater on Friday evening as part of the Hometown Hall of Famer™ program. A crowd of more than 3,000 witnessed the ceremony that took place at halftime of the Foley (Ala.) High School varsity football game. Several of Stabler’s family members were in attendance for the ceremony.

Hometown Hall of Famer™ is a national program that honors the hometown roots of the greatest heroes of the game with special ceremonies and plaque dedication events in local communities.

“I’ve never played a down of football in my life, but I do know how special this place was to our Dad,” said Alexa Stabler Adams, daughter of Ken Stabler. “Foley was home. Foley gave my Dad the skills to perform at the highest level. It gave Dad the relationships that carried him to Tuscaloosa, to Oakland, to , to and ultimately, back here.”

“Ford Motor Company is proud to join with his family and friends in recognizing the late Ken Stabler in his hometown of Foley. Both Ford and the Pro Football Hall of Fame are committed to excellence and have a deep appreciation for legacies,” said Richard Moyer, President of Moyer Ford.

Stabler was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 1968 AFL-NFL Draft out of the . “Snake” was a 15-year NFL veteran with the Raiders, Houston Oilers and . In 1974, he was named the NFL’s

Most Valuable Player and NFL Offensive Player of the Year and two seasons later led the Raiders to victory in XI. The four-time selection led the Raiders to six AFC championship games and was named to the prestigious NFL 1970’s All-Decade Team. Stabler was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame earlier this month.

Friday’s event was the 105th Hometown Hall of Famer™ ceremony. Other Hometown Hall of Famer™ events included: (Hancock HS in Kiln, Miss.); (William Campbell HS in Naruna, Va.); (Royalton HS in Little Falls, Minn.); (Booker T. Washington HS in Miami, Fla.); (Eisenhower HS in Rialto, Calif.); (White Plains HS in White Plains, N.Y.); (Clarke Central HS in Athens, Ga.); (King City HS in King City, Mo.).
