DOING GOD'S WILL The language of Jeremi- ah as he addresses his yearnings to God--he says, "You duped me, O LORD, and I let myself be duped" (Jeremiah 20:7)--indicates a close and personal relation- ship with God. It is one the prophet obviously cherishes despite the derision and reproach it brings him. In the Gos- pel, Jesus indicates a similar bond with his Father. In spite of the difficult challenges pre- sented by following God's will, Jesus is not deterred. Giving up our own worldly cares and dreams, even as we ac- cept pain and suffering, is more than a fair ex- change for doing the will of God. The only way to do God's will is offer our whole selves to God. As St. Paul writes in the Letter to the Romans: "Do not conform yourselves to this age but be trans- formed by the renewal of your mind" (Romans 12:2a). Copyright (c) J. S. Paluch Co.

What is a Cell Group? If I had a dime for every Catholic leaving the Catholic Church in favor of an evangelical Protestant church, I would be a very wealthy person. Among the top factors given for leaving is a friendly small group. Jesus had the first study small group with his friends - the Apostles. Come join the heart of Corpus Christi Parish by visiting a cell/small group in your neighborhood. Come meet other parishioners in the comfort of a home and make friends that will last a life-time and beyond! Best of all, get to know your Catholic faith and to live and share it with joy. This is a wonderful way to grow spiritually. SEVEN PURPOSES OF A CELL GROUP 1. To grow in ongoing intimacy with the Lord 2. To evangelize by word and lifestyle, especially by inviting people to join the cell 3. To grow to a point of birthing new cells 4. To give and receive support 5. To inspire members to prepare for leadership 6. To be involved in parish ministry 7. To deepen our Catholic identity We have cells that meet on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
