ON I Happy 18th Birthday to us!! We’ve come a long way from our start as a group of gamers sharing space at a restaurant! This year has been brought to you by a lot of work, from a lot of amazing NFORMAT people. We all sincerely hope you enjoy yourselves. There’s a lot here for everyone, and I personally I encourage everyone to try something new this year. Normally spend your time in the Board Game room? Hop over to LARP. Spend your days rolling dice with RPGs? Try a miniatures game. Volunteer for an hour or two. Expand your horizons, meet new people, and, above all, enjoy the gaming. We’re doing some new things this year - trying to be a little more socially conscious. We want to make GameStorm welcoming for everyone who wants to play games. A few years ago, we implemented a very straight-forward non-discrimination policy, and it was a good start. This year, we’ve got two new things we’re trying out, building on that concept of inclusiveness: Approachability Bracelets and Pronoun Stickers. Hopefully these changes will make the experience that is GameStorm even better for our members! We also have two Guests of Honor who are brand new to GameStorm. Please take a moment and welcome Brian Poel and Mike Mulvihill. Both have experience working a particular fascination of mine - crossover games. These are games that touch both the analog and digital worlds – like Shadowrun and Golem Arcana. GameStorm has always given back to our community. Net proceeds are donated to a non-profit, and this year, we’re giving to Oregon Food Bank. I’m proud to have a donation barrel in the lobby as well. (OSFCI) CODE of ConDUCT ON I OSFCI does not tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind, including but not limited to physical assault, battery, deliberate intimidation, stalking or unwelcome physical contact. This policy applies to your interactions with fellow con-goers, program participants, hotel employees, and guests of the hotel. NFORMAT Be respectful of and courteous towards others. If you have graduated from kindergarten, we expect you to I understand that you need to ask before you touch and that “no” means “no”. If someone tells you “no” or “go away”, your business with them is done. Violation of this policy can result in action by the con committee ranging from warnings to having your badge revoked with no refund, and the decision of the event chair is final. Action by the convention in no way precludes the injured individual or the hotel from pursuing whatever remedies, civil or criminal, they see fit. After the event, OSFCI may take further action, including banning you from further events. Please note that other behaviors, including but not limited to destruction of hotel property, can also result in the actions described above. A copy of the procedures for enforcement of this code are available on the OSFCI web site at http://osfci.org/code.html PolICIES Badge Badges are to be worn and visible by convention attendees at all times. Until the end of the convention, badges remain the property of GameStorm. Children All children ages 10 and under must be actively supervised by a responsible adult at all times. If a child age 10 or under is found unsupervised, both the child and parent/guardian may have their memberships revoked, and no refunds will be issued. Badges for children 10 and under will be identified by a red stripe. All children ages 14 and under must have a registered parent or legal guardian (or an adult designated by the parent or guardian in writing on the waiver form) attending the convention at all times that the child is attending. Children ages 15-17 may attend the convention unsupervised. A completed waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian is required for all children ages 17 and under. The waiver form must include contact information for the parent/guardian (plus contact information for a designated adult supervisor, if any), which will only be used in relation to care of the child. Badges for children ages 10 and under will be identified by a red stripe. Badges for children ages 11-17 will be identified by a yellow stripe. Code of Conduct The Code of Conduct (“Oregon Science Fiction Conventions, Inc. (OSFCI) Code of Conduct“) above on this page exists to provide guidance to all GameStorm convention members. It is to help ensure that the behavior of one individual does not adversely affect the rest of the members. It applies to all pre-con, at con, and post-con activities that are related to GameStorm. All members are encouraged to read this Code and ask questions about anything that they do not understand. GameStorm is prepared to deal with any violations of the code as legally, rapidly, and efficiently as possible. We hope that all members will help to make GameStorm an enjoyable experience for all, by respecting the rights of all attendees. GameStorm reserves the right to revoke membership and eject any individual at any time from GameStorm. No refunds will be provided. Failure to adhere to the code of conduct may result in: Mediation by the Con Chair and Convention Operations talking to all parties involved in an incident; Verbal warnings; Turning the individual in to hotel or hotel security; Revocation of membership and ejection from GameStorm; Contacting local law enforcement. Hotel Interactions We ask that you follow any and all rules set by the convention hotel. The person in whose name a guest room is rented is solely responsible for the conduct of all individuals in the room and the condition of the room. Excessive trash, any act of vandalism, deliberate or excessive damage to hotel room and its contents, or any negative interference with hotel staff that may present a hazard to said hotel staff will result in the hotel taking control of the situation. Individuals, regardless of whose name the room is rented in, will be billed for said damages by the hotel. In addition, individuals may be evicted from the hotel and/or the convention and may also face criminal charges. WWW.GAMESTORM.ORG 5 PolICIES (Cont.) Food I Outside food is not permitted in the function space of the hotel. Function space includes the hotel lobbies, NFORMAT the Dealer’s Room, and all gaming/activity spaces. Visit the GameStorm Hospitality Room in Heritage D for a quick snack between events. Do not remove food or drink from Hospitality. The hotel also has a coffee bar and a restaurant. Food from the hotel coffee bar and the restaurant may be brought into function spaces. The hotel will also be selling food in the Heritage Lobby and from carts that will travel through some of I the gaming spaces ON Personal Interaction We ask that you respect others so that everyone is comfortable and feels safe while attending GameStorm. Harassment of others will not be tolerated and is a violation of the Code of Conduct. See page 4 for more details. If someone asks you to leave them alone or tells you no, you walk away, and you do not approach them again.

WHY IS YOUR EVENT CROSS PLATFORM? We believe that barriers between platforms are dissolving. While mobile, console and PC still retain their own distinct characteristics – which need to be respected – the extent to which they divide the industry and by which games are enclosed by them has never been more in question. Game developers are pushing at the edges of the boundaries between console and PC, with games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Minecraft spread- ing across platforms. Foretold by the Dark Age of Comics, the doom that now comes to Earth arrives in the form of self-realizing eschatologies, horrors born out of the rutting between unfettered capitalism and its favorite child, technological hubris. When the Big Two comic book publishers began hiring British and Irish authors en masse over the course of the 1980s, these writers brought with them a critical eye sharpened by the political and economic cruelty of the decade. The victims of the Iron Lady came to the New World and set their sights on the empire of the Teflon President, using superhero stories to explore the ideological weapons deployed in the service of global capitalism. The Weird History of USAmerican Fascism tracks the interrelated networks of popular culture and fascism in the United States to demonstrate the degree to which contemporary USAmerican politics embodies the future that the fictional dystopias of the past warned us about. Although the trans-Atlantic political developments of 2016 and their aftermath have sparked a widespread interest in a resurgent Anglophone fascism and its street-level movements – seen most obviously in the loose collection of white supremacists known as the ‘alt- right’ – this interest has been hamstrung by the historical aversion to a serious study of popular and ‘nerd’ culture during the twentieth century.
