A commitment to assisting the spiritual, as well as the physical and academic aspects of all students is fundamental to our reason for being. The College offers education for girls and boys in a unique, co-educational environment where students can grow into young adults, sure and confident of their own self-worth. The structure and organisation of the College offers an opportunity for students to concentrate their efforts on aspects of their personal development – academic, physical, cultural and spiritual – in a logical and focused manner. The College values academic excellence. Excellence is a relative, not an absolute concept and should be viewed in terms student growth. The College has an obligation to focus the attention of students towards their future after their time at Scots All Saints College. This does not mean choosing a career for students but providing them with skills designed to ensure they can determine their future path at any stage after finishing their secondary education. The College attempts to provide leadership opportunities so that students can leave the College ready to make a contribution towards effective leadership of the communities in which they will serve. The College caters for a range of students from differing backgrounds – city and country, day and boarding (including a number from overseas). Our aim is to foster a broad vision in the students – a statewide, nationwide and international perspective of their place in society. Being part of the College Community means accepting the obligations of proper social conduct consistent with our good name. Value is placed on self-discipline and individual responsibility. The information in this book is in addition to that provided in the Parent Handbook provided to all parents of all students, sent prior to attendance, the Student Prep/ Homework Diary and the College Calendar, which all students receive on the first day of attendance in each College year. We provide all boarders with a secure and caring environment in which students will grow and develop academically, socially, physically, morally, and spiritually. We encourage a community life in which students will not only become independent and self- sufficient, but also be responsible citizens who live harmoniously and care for one another. We foster the development of self-discipline and encourage students to accept responsibility for their actions. We promote and encourage a family atmosphere where all students are cared for and valued. We have a transparent boarding environment in which parents are encouraged to visit their child’s respective Boarding House as often as they wish. Communication between students, parents and staff is vital. Organisation Boarding is organised into four separate Boarding Houses. The two Boys’ Houses are Bulkeley House and Ives House. The two Girls Houses are Thompson House and Galloway House. Bulkeley House Bulkeley House is a two storey building which accommodates approximately 50 Year 7 to Year 12 boys. The floors consist of dormitory rooms for Years 7 to 10, 3-4 bedroom cubicles for Year 11 and single rooms for Year 12. Each boy has their own king single bed, a bed-side table and a double wardrobe as well as a prep cupboard located in the prep room. Year 11 rooms have built in desks located in each room. Year 12 have study desks in their rooms. There is a common kitchen and 2x recreational rooms and a purpose built prep room. Year 12 have access to laundry and ironing facilities. Email and internet access is available through the House wireless network. Under each bed there is storage access and a suitcase storage room is provided. Ives House Ives House is a single storey building that accommodates approximately 26 Year 5 to 12 boys. Each boy has their own king single bed, a bedside table and a double wardrobe. Year 11 cubicles have built in desks and Year 12 have study desks in their rooms. There is a common kitchen and a recreational room. Year 12 have access to laundry and ironing facilities. Email and internet access is available through the House wireless network. Under each bed there is storage access and a suitcase storage room is provided. 6 | Scots All Saints College Boarding Handbook - Scots Campus Galloway House Galloway House is a single storey building which accommodates approximately 50 girls. There are separate wings of the House for the Junior Girls Year 6 to Year 9 and the Senior Girls Year 10 to Year 12. The Junior Girls are accommodated in dormitory style rooms, however each girl has a divided cubicle space for privacy. Each cubicle has a single bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe and a privacy curtain. The Junior Girls in Year 6 – Year 9 have a purpose-built prep/ homework and study area. The Senior Girls are in dormitory accommodation; however, each girl has a divided cubicle space for privacy which is larger in size than the Juniors. Each cubicle has a single bed, chest of drawers, a study desk, wardrobe and a privacy curtain. Year 12 Girls are accommodated in single rooms. The House has separate senior and junior kitchen areas, toilets, showers and common rooms as well as a shared courtyard. Email and internet access is available through the House wireless network. A suitcase storage room is provided. Thompson House Thompson House is a two storey building which accommodates approximately 50 girls. There are separate areas of the House for Junior Girls Year 6 to Year 9 and Senior Girls Year 10 to Year 12. The Junior Girls are accommodated in dormitory style rooms, however each girl has a divided cubicle space for privacy. Each cubicle has a single bed, chest of drawers, wardrobe and a privacy curtain.

    May 21, 2019, Dear Speaker Pelosi, Leader McCarthy, Chairman Nadler, and Ranking Member Collins, We, the undersigned national, state, and local education, civil and human rights, LGBTQ+, labor, national security, faith, grassroots, and immigrants’ rights organizations, write to express our support for the American Dream and Promise Act as it goes before the House Judiciary Committee for markup. The legislation would put immigrant youth known as Dreamers and long-time beneficiaries of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) on a roadmap to citizenship. Over the past two years, the Trump administration has taken steps to end Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and strip status from nearly every individual with TPS and all of those with DED. Only a small number of preliminary injunctions prevent these individuals from facing the prospect of detention and deportation. The administration’s actions are inflicting enormous pain and uncertainty on more than a million people—not to mention their families and their communities who face an impending separation crisis. These individuals live in every state and every congressional district. They are our classmates and our teachers, our coworkers and our employers. They worship with us and help to keep us safe. They contribute to our great nation in myriad ways. The average DACA recipient came to the country at age six, while the average TPS holder has been in the country for 22 years. Between them, they have nearly 500,000 U.S. citizen children, not to mention many hundreds of thousands more U.S. citizen parents, spouses, and siblings, all of whom are suffering already and will suffer still more if the Trump administration is successful in ending their protections.

This month marks not only ASR's 25th Anniversary, but also begins the 100th year of Catholic school education on the Gold Coast. St. Patrick School was dedicated on September 6, 1915 in the same landmark building now occupied by All Saints. Three more Catholic schools opened in surrounding communities during the early to mid-20th Century: St. Boniface, Sea Cliff, St. Hyacinth, Glen Head and St. Mary, Roslyn. These schools were founded to provide a high-quality faith based education to the families of this part of Long Island, including the children of the many Catholic immigrants who have always come to this area. The four original parish schools joined together in 1990 to form All Saints Regional Catholic School. The school is supported by those four parishes, joined by St. Rocco’s in Glen Cove, and by generous benefactors who support the school’s mission. Fr.
