General Notes: Ida County paper, Pioneer August 22, 1895 A sad and untimely end of life full of promise was that occasioned by the death of Charles Huston, an Ida Grove boy who was called to his long rest while among strangers, far from home and relatives of any near friends. The young man had lived in this city with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Huston, since infancy, until about 18 months ago when he went to Missouli, Montana, where he soon secured the

position of manager of a large lumber manufacturing concern. About Charles six weeks before his death, the parents received a letter from him Inscription on back of photo: Compliments of Charles to stating that he had been ill but was feeling much better and had brother Joe and sister Annie. Sept. 25 1893. When my resumed his work and this was the last they heard from him at home mustache grows I'll send until the telegram was received announcing his death, from cerebra you another. Please remember me in return spinal meningitis. It was a sad blow to the relatives and friends. Word sometime. (1893) was sent back to forward the body to this place, the remains arriving her last Friday. Services were conducted by Rev. Latchaw, assisted by Rev. Gleason and held at the Huston home of Saturday and a large attendance was on hand. The deceased was 22 years old, a young man of exemplary habits and very best of morals. During his last illness he was tenderly cared for by the Knights of Macawbees, of which order he was a member. He leaves father, mother, five brothers, two sisters to mourn his death.

E. Houston Dies OF Injury IN Auto Wreck Suffered Broken Back When Auto Turned Over on Slippery Highway Near Evanston, Wyoming. David Edgar Houston, widely known and popular Boulder citizen, died in a hospital at Evanston, Wyo., last week of injuries he suffered in an automobile accident October 30, 12 miles east of that city. Mr. Houston's body was brought back to Boulder Sunday afternoon and the funeral will be held at his late home, David E. Houston 2221 Walnut street, at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Mrs Florence Fisher of the pentacostal mission and the Columbia lodge 14 A.F.& A.M. will be in charge. Burial will be in Columbia cemetery. The automobile that Mr. Houston was driving and riding in alone, skidded on some snow at the junction with the Kremmerer road and rolled over an embankment. The sheriff of the county was in a car right behind Mr. Houston and witnessed the accident. He took him to the Evanston hospital where it was found that Mr. Houston had suffered a broken back and was paralyzesd from the neck down. He did not lose consciousness until a few days before he died. Born in Canada Mr. Houston was born June 11, 1864 at Lachute, Quebec, Canada. His family moved to Alpena, Mich., and later to Ida Grove, Iowa. He was educated in the schools at Ida Grove and at Davenport. On April 7, 1891 he was married to Miss Ada Hilliker of Lincoln, Neb., and to this union four sons were born. In 1899 Mr. and Mrs. Houston had been traveling in Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming and Utah. In late years he represented the Ripon Knitting company of Ripon, Wis., The Bass Shoe company of Wilton, Maine; the Fairfield Iowa, and Joseph Herman Shoe company of Boston, Mass. Prominent Mason He was a life member of Lincoln Lodge No. 19 A.F. and A.M., of Lincoln, Neb., member of Royal Arch Chapter No. 7, Boulder, and of the Santa Fe, New Mexico, consistory. Survivors are the wife and the four sons, Donald M. Houston of Butte, Mont., Roy E. Houston of Denver, and Jean C. Houston of
