PALABRAS CLAVE: cine documental, cine de montaje, filme tract, resistencia, Camus, Combat, Tribunal de Actividades Antiamericanas, Movimientos Unidos de Resistencia, periodismo critico, lucha antifranquista, rasgos informativos de la prensa clandestina ABSTRACT THE INFORMATION UNDERHANDED This article is born of idea what is possible to propone, from the comparative method, a methodic articulation of conceptual “clandestine information”, imputing to the media one series of characteristics within a diachronic historical context, starting off of models 231 Juan Antonio Hernández Les Información clandestina that find in the cinema, the radio and the press, own signals of informative identity, with special relevance of facts happened in Spain and other foreign countries. -

Camillo Berneri
Camillo Berneri Frank Mintz 1978 Born in Lodi on 28th May 1897, he spent his childhood at Reggio Emilia and was active in [a] Socialist youth group. He decided to resign by sending an open letter which caused some disturbance: ”. the Socialist movement has started on a disastrous descent towards the depths of destructive egoism, thus following in the path of the moral strength of Christianity, which grew strong thanks to its martyrs and fell into decay when the sacrifices of its followers ceased.” ”We need a new burst of energy, we must return to a time when to love an idea meant not to fear death and to sacrifice one’s whole life to total submission.” (1915). This deep, militant commitment which one meets again and again right up until his assassination was never, however, a blind faith, as we shall see. In 1917 he was drafted. Did he want to be an objector or desert? ”There are occasions whento get oneself killed is the most logical solution, and to get oneself killed becomes a moral necessity. Cases of conscience are more terrible than Austrian bullets or asphyxiating gases.” ”One fights and one dies. Violets grow on the blood-soaked earth, along the ditches of red water.” After the war he finished his studies while very actively involved in the anarchist press. He became a humanities teacher in a high school.. The coming of the Fascist regime and his refusal to give any loyalty as a civil servant to this regime meant that he had to go into exile. -
Abstract: This article studies the evolution about of the different political projects that fought for the political hegemony in the Spanish Republican exile during the de- cade of the forties of last century in Mexico. The article analyzes the discourses and the Spanish Civil War fractures occurred in the political imaginaries. Their conflicts made it impossible for collaboration to flight to the Franquismo. -

Foreign Correspondents in Francoist Spain
Foreign correspondents in Francoist Spain (1945-1975) Tobias Reckling This thesis is submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy of the University of Portsmouth. March 2016 1 Abstract This thesis will examine the foreign press corps in Francoist Spain from 1945 until 1975. After the end of the Second World War, the Franco regime was internationally isolated as a result of its ties with Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. However, the dictatorship returned to the international stage during the 1950s and managed to survive on the margins of the Cold War world order until the death of Franco in 1975. Throughout these 30 years and while never loosening its dictatorial control over Spain, the Franco regime continuously tried to improve its international position and image beyond mere toleration. Foreign correspondents were working at the centre of this balancing act. Against this backdrop, this thesis has two central aims. First, it will examine the regime’s policy towards the foreign press. The thesis will show that the Francoist authorities never fully accepted the foreign press corps’ work within Spain and tried to exercise control over the foreign press corps until the end of the regime. Throughout the regime’s internal and external development, however, the Francoist authorities adapted the means they employed. At the same time, conflicting interests and strategies within the Franco regime shaped its policy towards the foreign press. This thesis will further show that conflicts with correspondents partially had their roots in the importance of the foreign press, distributed within Spain, for the Spanish public in general and the political opposition in particular. -
How the NKVD Framed the POUM
How the NKVD framed the POUM An extract of the memoirs of Jesús Hernández, a leading member of the Spanish Communist Party and minister in the republican government during the Spanish civil war, explaining how Soviet secret police framed and persecuted the anti-Stalinist communist group the POUM during the conflict. Marxists.org editor’s note Hernández was a leading member in the Spanish Communist Party (PCE) during the Spanish Civil War and served as one of the two communist ministers in the Spanish republican government. After the war he challenged the Dolores Ibárruri (La Pasionaria) party leadership and was expelled from the party (1944). After the break between Stalin and Tito he sided with Tito. During the rest of his active life, he worked at the Yugoslav embassy in Mexico City. He died in 1971. The following text is taken from the memoirs of Jesús Hernández, published in 1953 in Mexico as Yo fuí un ministro de Stalin (I Was a Minister of Stalin). The memoirs have never been translated in full to english. The sections reproduced below are about the stalinist persecution and suppression of the POUM. They were originally serialised during 1953 in Labor Action, the US socialist paper published by Max Shachtman’s Workers Party. The translation has been checked against the Spanish text and amended. Notes have been added. How the NKVD framed the POUM WHEN I ARRIVED at the ministry, Cimorra handed me a small closed envelope.[1] Inside was a card. I read: ‘Dear friend: If you have nothing more important to do, I expect you for tea at six in the evening. -

Unmediated Translations from Russian in the 1930s: A Critical Overview. Noemi Llamas Gomez Submitted in fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy School of Modern Languages and Cultures College of Arts University of Glasgow August 2018 iii Abstract This thesis addresses the contribution of Francesc Payarols and Andreu Nin to the Catalan literary system between 1928 and 1937 via the introduction of unmediated translations from Russian into Catalan. This contribution has been studied by comparing it to previous translation activity from Russian into Catalan, to translations in literary systems that due to prestige and geographical proximity can be considered neighbouring systems to the Catalan system (the French, the British and the Spanish), and by reviewing some of the critical reception that these publications gathered in the Catalan press of the time.
