Overberg District / Western Cape Supplier Database (WCSD) Registration
What is the Western Cape Supplier Database? The Western Cape Government is moving towards an integrated, centralised Supplier Database that will be managed by Ariba. All Departments of the Western Cape Government including Local- and District Municipalities (Overstrand, Swellendam, Cape Agulhas, Theewaterskloof Municipalities and Overberg District Municipality) will source prospective suppliers that wish to do business with the provincial government for the database. With the information of suppliers at their disposal, it will enable any of the departments to find an appropriate supplier to render services.
When? All suppliers must be registered on the WCSD, as from 01 August 2015.
What are the benefits are of being registered on the Western Cape Supplier Database? • A registered supplier will be considered a verified supplier, meaning that is meets the minimum requirements to do business with all spheres of the Western Cape Government. • Eradicates the repetitive submission of the required documentation for each quote lodged. • Prospective service providers to be eligible to contract with all spheres of the Western Cape Government. • A once off registration has to be done in order for suppliers to be considered for rendering business to Provincial- and Local Government in the Western Cape. You will not have to update your details at all in the municipalities once you are registered, but only do it once with the WCSD.
Registration on the WCSD is effective immediately; it is a compulsory requirement to make a supplier eligible to conduct business with Western Cape Government (WCG) and all District- and Local Municipalities in the Western Cape.

Road shows (as per dates and venues provided hereunder) will be held and you can attend any one of these session in order to receive more information about the WCSD and to register.
