E-Newsletter – 29th October 2020 www.bera.co.uk © Andrew Armstrong Photography 1) Information Corner Scams A member has contacted us with more possible scams. Please see the below email information from the member: a) Talktalk They asked him to take a customer satisfaction survey and enter a prize draw. In fact it wasn't talktalk at all and when he looked carefully at the mail (without clicking on anything of course) it came from someone registered at 801 US Highway California. b) Boots Boots letting him know he has a surprise gift waiting for him if he clicked on the link or phone a number. The actual address at the top of the mail was 'cordenbitcoin' so another scam. c) Door to Door mask sales People are going door to door handing out masks, they say it’s a new initiative from local Government. They will always ask you to please put it on to see if it fits you. It has been doused with chemicals which knocks you out cold and once you’re knocked out, they proceed to rob you. Page | 1 Please do not accept masks from strangers. Remember, we are living in critical times and people are desperate to take advantage with the aim of making money. Crime rate has skyrocketed, so please be cautious and play it safe. d) Vodafone A member received a message from Vodafone saying that they are unable to process his payment and to follow the ink. However, the member does not have a contract with Vodafone. e) HMRC The same member had a telephone call from HMRC, which was a scam as HMRC do not phone the public.

This year we were delighted to open the Airport’s railway station and in just a few months’ time our new terminal building will be up and running, our extended runway operational and new airline services will have commenced. The return of passenger traffic to the airport after a long period of decline, and the many new staff that are being employed to support our new operations will bring not only great opportunities, but also present new challenges. One of these challenges is how to manage the transport needs of our passengers and airport staff. When we gained planning permission to extend the runway we gave a commitment to working with our local authority partners to prepare a surface access strategy for the airport.
