Do Not Throw Away Old Timetables

Old timetables can be a valuable asset for the ATA Auctions, Distribution Service or the National Timetable Collection. If you have old timetables that you want to discard, please contact the Australian Timetable Association first. Len Regan, 03 5797 2493, [email protected], will help you decide where best your old timetables can be deposited.

ATA Distribution Service July 2014 5 DISTRIBUTION SERVICE JULY 2014 DISTRIBUTION LIST AUCTION 55 Information and Instructions Distribution List: Orders: Send your order to Distribution Manager Peter Hobbis either by post to 17 Louise Crescent, Morphett Vale, SA 5162 or by email to [email protected]. Please include Peter’s name in the address, not just ATA. Please make sure that it is clear which item numbers you are ordering. If an item is available in both file and print versions, as shown in the right hand columns, please clearly indicate which version you want. Files are normally sent by email, but can be posted on a CD for an extra $2.50. Please include an email address or phone number so that Peter can check any order details if necessary. Please contact Peter if you do not receive your order within two weeks for email orders or three weeks for postage orders. Peter will forward your order to the Distribution Officers who hold the stock for the items ordered, and they will despatch the items. Their codes are shown in the first column of the Distribution List. Payments attached to orders will be forwarded to the Treasurer. Costs: Each item is allocated a number of cost points, each worth 25 cents. Add up the cost points for the items you order, and divide by 4 to work out the total dollar value of your order. The cost of packing and postage is included in these costs. ATA members get a discount of 5% for Distribution List orders for over $10, and 10% for orders over $30 subject to adequate coverage of costs. Codes: Those in first row of an item relate to whole item. Codes in other rows relate to the document in that row. • Date: The start date for the service, otherwise the print date shown the item. Auction: Bids: Send bids to ATA Auctioneer Geoff Hassall by post to 19 Yara Cr, Maryland, NSW 2287, or by email to [email protected]. All values are in whole dollars. Initial bids must be received by 20 July 2014. If submitting your bids by post, it is suggested that you advise the Auctioneer by phone or email in case the postal delivery is delayed. For the Lots of your choice, write your bid in the 'Bid' column. It must be not less than the amount shown in the Reserve column. If this is the only bid for a Lot, you will pay your bid price. If there are multiple bidders, but no Alternate Bids for a Lot, the Lot is sold to the highest bidder at that bid price. You can enter an Alternate Bid that you are prepared to pay in the 'Alt Bid' column. If there is more than one bid for a Lot, the Alternate Bids are considered, and the item is sold to the highest Alternate Bid at that bid price. If there is more than one equal bid, each bidder will be contacted by the auctioneer, preferably by email, and given the opportunity to raise their bid. The Auctioneer will advise you, preferably by email, of the auction items where your bid was the highest, and the total value of your order. ATA members are given a discount of 5% when the total of successful bids is more than $30. The cost of packing and postage to the successful bidder is included in the Auction bid values. Payment must be received within 7 days of advice that your bid has been accepted, otherwise the bid will lapse. Auction items will be despatched to successful bidders by the Auctioneer after payment has been made. Lots unsold after inclusion in two Auctions will be allocated to the Distribution List unless the vendor requests their return. The planned topics for the next Auctions are Oddments and non-timetable material, Overseas Rail Timetables & Suburban Bus timetables. Payment: All payments and account balances are handled by the ATA Treasurer, Len Regan. Payments can be made: with postage stamps (any denominations) by cheque payable to Australian Timetable Association by PayPal to ATA at [email protected] or by EFT bank deposit to ATA: Westpac BSB 034083, account 163088. The preferred method for payment is for you to maintain a credit account with ATA. Your Distribution List and Auction costs can be deducted from this account. You can top-up the account by any of the payment methods. Cheques can be posted direct to Len Regan, Treasurer, at PO Box 21, Yea, Vic, 3717. If paying by PayPal or EFT, please include your name in the message, and send an email to the Treasurer at [email protected] . Contributions: Items for the Distribution List and Auction are always welcome. Please contact the Distribution Manager or Auctioneer for information about where and how to send the material. You can also offer to become part of the Australia-wide network of Distribution Officers. You can request to have the cost of postage for sending supplies for the Distribution List granted as credit to your account. Auction vendors receive 75% of the successful bid value, preferably credited to their Distribution Service account. Managers: Distribution Manager Peter Hobbis, 08 8326 3818, is responsible for the processing of all Distribution List orders. Auctioneer Geoff Hassall, 02 4955 9013, compiles the Auction Catalogue, assesses the bids, and despatches lots to successful bidders. Treasurer Len Regan, 03 5797 2493, compiles the Distribution List from the list of items submitted by the Distribution Officers, and processes all payments for the Distribution List and for the Auction.
