MINISTRY UPDATES

Ahava Children’s Ministry

The sign up sheet for July is back in the classroom/nursery area on the wall. Teachers and helpers can sign themselves up for dates that work for them. It will cover 2 months at a time. Teachers will be planning their own lessons, and helpers as usual will assist the teacher. In the storage room in the back of the sanctuary, there is a curriculum box for books and lessons, or you can use resources that you have. More teachers are needed. There should be a minimum of one adult in the back (18 or over) but preferably 2 adults should sign up at a time. Please talk to Dee Rodriguez if you would like to serve as a teacher for the first time, or if you would be willing to serve as the new Shabbat School leader. For those who sign up for Shabbat School, on the Sabbath you are in the classroom, please let the people serving in the sound booth know and they can make you a copy of the message.

Davidic Dance Ministry (will be on hold until the first Sabbath in August)

Beginning dance classes are normally held on the first and second Sabbaths of the month. Our Davidic Dance Leaders are taking a much needed ’sabbatical’. Thank you Daniele and Julia for all of your hard work and commitment in serving Adonai through this ministry!

Is. 52:7 "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the messenger of good tidings, that announces peace and announces salvation, that says unto Zion: "Your Elohim reigns!"

Davidic Dance at Ahava is worshiping Adonai with sacred reverence to Him. Therefore, there must be order and understanding when we worship through dance. Seasoned worship dancers may join the Davidic Dance circle after speaking to Daniele and Julia, our dance leaders, and demonstrating basic core steps. Appropri- ate dance attire is skirts and dresses below the knee, and tops should be covered shoulders, no tank tops or camisoles.... nothing see through. Our focus is to please Elohim and not man.

The Hora Dance is for everyone and we encourage all to participate and celebrate in this dance. The dance for “He Shall Reign” is for everyone as well!

Thank you for your understanding and we ask that you pray that Elohim be exalted through the dance ministry as it is a powerful weapon against the enemy.

Contact the Office at Ahava B’Shem Yeshua (928.443.5988) if you have any questions. Page 6 Ahava B’Shem Yeshua MESSIANIC 101 Terms & Definitions Tisha B’Av (Ninth of Av) Again the word of Adonai-Tzva’ot (The Lord of Hosts) came saying: “Thus says Adonai-Tzva’ot, “The fast of the fourth, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventh and the fast of the tenth month will become joy, glad- ness and cheerful moadim. Therefore, love truth and shalom!” Zechariah 8:18-19 TLV

Tisha B’Av (the ninth of Av) falls this year on Shabbat, therefore it is observed on the 10th of Av, Sunday, July 22nd. Tisha B’Av is one of the major fast days in Judaism, beginning at sundown on Shabbat, July 21st and lasting for 25 hours. It completes the three weeks of Bein HaMetzarim (between the straits, the days of distress). This period of time is ob- served with mourning, fasting and prayers. During Tisha B’Av the following scriptures are read:

• Exodus 32:11-14 • Exodus 34:1-10 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem— • Deuteronomy 4:25-40 ”May those who love you be at peace!” • The Book of Lamentations • The 122:6 TLV • Isaiah 55:6-56:8 • Jeremiah 8:13-9:23

Some of the historical tragedies that have occurred on this date are:

• Adonai decreed that the Israelites would not enter the promised land for accepting the false report from the 10 spies (Numbers 13 and 14). (1312 BCE) • The destruction of the First Temple by Nebuchadnezzar. (586 BCE) • The destruction of the Second Temple by the Romans, led by Titus. (70 CE) • The Bar Kochba revolt was crushed by Roman Emperor Hadrian. (135 CE) • The Temple area and its surroundings were plowed under by the Roman general Turnus Rufus. Jerusalem was re- built as a pagan city – renamed Aelia Capitolina – and access was forbidden to Jews. • The expulsion of the Jews from England. (1290 CE) • The expulsion of the Jews from Spain. (1492 CE) • World War One broke out setting the stage for the Holocaust, on the eve of Tisha B’Av. (1914 CE) • Mass deportation of Jews from the Warsaw Ghetto, on the eve of Tisha B’Av. (1942 CE)

May the time come soon when this will all be wiped away, and there will be no more sadness. 3 I also heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the dwelling of God is among men, and He shall tabernacle among them. They shall be His people, and God Himself shall be among them and be their God. 4 He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more. Nor shall there be mourning or crying or pain any longer for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:3-4 TLV , Come, Lord Yeshua!
