Dit geeft ook voldoening voor die iemand die voor je gezocht heeft. Dit probleem van geen fatsoen en ondankbaarheid is niet alleen in Zuid-Afrika bij SAG, maar ook o.a. in Nederland en België bij mailgroepen! Veel mensen denken alleen aan ikke-ikke-ikke, als ik maar een goed antwoord heb, maar geen bedankje of berichtje, heel onfatsoenlijk! Hulle gee al hulle data wat gevra word, gebruik hulle eie tyd om al die inligting op te soek, en gee noukeurig die bronne aan. Baie dankie aan hierdie groepie persone. Heel dikwels sien mens dat daar nie enige dank of erkenning gegee word deur die ontvanger nie. Dalk gebeur dit van die lys af, maar dit is meesal nie my eie ervaring nie. Plaaslike lede en mense van oorsee doen dikwels nie die moeite om eers terug te antwoord nie. Ek sal voortaan net inligting gee waar die versoek spesefiek aan my gerig word. Beeld het in Junie berig hoe paramedici van ER24 Kylie Barnard op 'n draagbaar na haar ouers se dubbel-begrafnis geneem het nadat sy haar been gebreek het in die ongeluk waarin haar ouers, Basjan (42) en Ninnie (38), dood is. Dié ongeluk het reg voor mev. Barnard se ouers se plaas, wat skuins oorkant hul eie is, op die N12-hoofweg gebeur. Mnr. Sakkie Liebenberg (62), mev. Barnard se pa, is Saterdagmiddag op dieselfde pad, enkele kilometer van waar sy dogter en skoonseun verongeluk het, dood toe die bakkie waarin hy gery het, gerol het. Mev. Yvonne van der Westhuizen, Liebenberg se ander dogter, het gister gesê 'n gebarste motorband het veroorsaak dat haar pa beheer oor die bakkie verloor en dit toe gerol het. Sy het vertel haar pa, 'n boukontrakteur, was alleen in sy bakkie op pad huis toe nadat hy werkers afgelaai het, toe die ongeluk omstreeks 17:15 oorkant die Danie Theron-monument gebeur het. Hy is op slag dood. " 'n Mens kan nie dink dat die tragedie 'n mens binne 'n kwessie van drie maande wéér so tref nie. "My pa kon nooit Ninnie en Basjan se dood verwerk nie. Hy moes elke dag verby die plek ry waar dit gebeur het en hy't nog vreeslik getreur. Miskien is dit beter dat hy nou by hulle is." Mnr. Izak Liebenberg het sy pa as 'n liefdevolle mens beskryf. "Hy't 'n hart soos 'n ark gehad - altyd plek vir nog een." Hy het gesê daar moet "dringend iets gedoen word om die N12-hoofweg (bekend as die pad van dood) te verbeter". Volgens Van der Westhuizen is Kylie se grootste vraag steeds waarom sy alleen moes agterbly. "Sy't egter nou vir die eerste keer 'n rede om te leef nadat sy met 'n driejaar-plan vorendag gekom het om 'n Christelike kinderkamp vir ander weeskinders te begin." Kylie, wat ná haar ouers se dood saam met hul hond, Tiger, by Van der Westhuizen gaan bly het, het gesê hulle gaan haar oorlede ouers se plaashuis gebruik vir dié kinderkamp. "Ek wil ander kinders hierheen bring om vir hulle van Jesus te leer." Sy gaan haar oupa "baie mis". "Ek's baie lief vir hom en Tiger gaan hom ook baie mis." Volgens Van der Westhuizen loop Tiger elke dag na die Barnards se grafte op die familie-begraafplaas, waar hy "?'n rukkie rondruik voordat hy terugkom huis toe". Maar dit klink te maklik, te eenvoudig. Daar sit meer in. Op 'n warm wintersoggend ontmoet ek hom by die BP-garage in die hoofstraat. Oom Jafta Pietersen is in sy vyf-en-sewentigste jaar op pad hemel toe, en hy trap fiets waar hy wil kom. Agterop is 'n krat met sy tange en goed. Behalwe sy kennis van medisynebossies is oom Jafta ook draadmaker. Ook dít is 'n ou kuns, en eers toe ek gesien het hoe pap en ellendig die draadheinings om Australiese plase is, het ek volle waardering vir ons s'n begin kry. Eerste na die Schoemans se plase in die poort. Oom Jafta weet net waar karmedik op daardie plaas groei.

It was held at the Goudini Spa in the Worcester district, Western Cape, South Africa. The objectives of these Colloquia are to promote research on the African Arachnida (non-Acari) and to provide a fo- rum for the discussion of research on African arachnids in oral presentations, posters and work- Editors and coordinators: shops, as well as informal discussions. Ansie Dippenaar-Schoeman & A total of 40 delegates and five accompanying persons attended the colloquium, from as far afield Robin Lyle as Belgium, Israel, Russia, Czech Republic, Nigeria, Sudan, Zimbabwe, UK and USA.
