National Latino Peace Officers Association Advocacy

Endorses Mike Eng for State Senate

The National Latino Peace Officers Association - Advocacy, the largest organization representing Latino federal, state, and local law enforcement officers, announced that they have endorsed Democrat Mike Eng for the 22nd State Senate seat. Senator Ed Hernandez, who is termed out and running for Lieutenant Governor, currently represents the district and is also supporting Mike Eng.

In announcing their endorsement, NLPOA-Advocacy Chairman Alan Alvarez stated “Mike Eng has demonstrated the highest ideas of honor, integrity, and truth. Mike Eng believes in the safety and security of our communities and is committed to bridging the gaps between law enforcement and our local communities. We invite our members and friends to support Mike Eng as our next State Senator for the 22nd district as he walks side-by-side with law enforcement.”

Mike Eng is also endorsed by Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), the Association of Deputy Sheriffs (ALADS) and the Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Association (LA PPOA).

“I’m proud and honored to be endorsed by the officers who protect and serve a majority of the communities in the 22nd senate district and Los Angeles County as a whole.” Eng said. “Neighborhood safety has always been a top priority to me as a lawmaker, educator and City Councilmember. Having the support of our local Latino officers means a lot to me personally,” Eng concluded.

As of the last campaign reports filed at the end of July, Mike Eng had raised more than $1.1 million and had more than 800% as much cash- on-hand as his nearest competitor. He’s also supported by State Senate President Pro-Tem Kevin de Leon and 20 current and recently retired State Senators, Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, Supervisor Hilda Solis, Assemblymember Ed Chau, and more than 100 local elected leaders from the San Gabriel Valley.
