Simon Trummer Formula Newsletter 03 2012 Design: DÄNZER WERBUNG THUN Newsletter | März 2012 Simon Trummer startet in seine erste GP2 Saison Die GP2 Serie – das bedeutendste Sprungbrett in die Formel 1 Die GP2 Saison 2012 umfasst 24 Rennen an zwölf Wochenenden. Elf von zwölf Rennen werden im Rahmenprogramm der Formel 1 ausgetragen. Die GP2 Serie gilt als das bedeutendste Sprungbrett in die Formel 1. So sind 2012 im Startfeld der Formel 1 zwölf Fahrer mit einer Vergangenheit in der GP2 zu finden. Für Simon Trummer bedeutet der Sprung in die GP2 sein bislang grösster Karriereschritt. Saisonstart ist am kommenden Wochenende in Sepang, Malaysia. Hochkarätiges Startfeld: Mindestens 13 Piloten mit Formel 1 Erfahrung am Start In der GP2 stehen jeweils 26 Autos am Start. Unter den bisher bestätigten 25 Piloten sind 13 Namen zu finden, welche bereits Luft in der Formel 1 geschnuppert haben. Kein einfaches Unterfangen also für Simon Trummer, sich in diesem hochkarätigen Feld zu etablieren. Die Tests in Jerez und Barcelona haben allerdings aufgezeigt, dass einiges möglich ist. Simon Trummer brauchte mit dem 612 PS starken Auto jeweils nicht lange, um schnell zu sein. In drei Testsessions klassierte er sich in den Top 10. Die Verantwortlichen von Arden International wissen um das Talent von Simon Trummer und behandeln ihn auf einer Stufe mit seinem erfahrenen Teamkollegen Luiz Razia, der 2010 bei Virgin Racing und 2011 beim Team Lotus in der Formel 1 als Testfahrer unter Vertrag stand und verschiedentlich bei Formel 1 Trainings zum Einsatz kam. GP2 in Barcelona pro Runde nur noch 6 Sekunden langsamer als die Formel 1 Auch technisch kommt die GP2 der Formel 1 am nächsten. In Trainings und Qualifyings dürfen die Fahrer nun volle Flügeleinstellungen fahren, was mehr Down Force bringt. In Barcelona zum Beispiel verloren die GP2 Autos pro Runde nur noch 6 Sekunden auf die Zeiten der Formel 1 Boliden. Beim Test in Barcelona kam die GP2 bis auf 6 Sekunden an die Rundenzeiten der Formel 1 heran. Simon Trummer: Sprung in die GP2 dank enormem Fleiss und professioneller Einstellung Das Team Arden International attestierte Simon Trummer schon 2011 grossen Fleiss. „Er ist einer der engagiertesten Piloten, mit denen ich je zusammengearbeitet habe“, kommentierte der Sportdirektor, Julian Rouse, nach der Vertragsunterzeichnung. Die professionelle Einstellung zahlte sich nun aus und war der Grundstein für den schnellen Übertritt von der GP3 in die GP2. Alleine mit einem gesicherten Budget kommt heute kein Fahrer mehr in die GP2. Nun unter Dauerbesichtigung der Formel 1 Teamverantwortlichen Ganz ohne Druck wird Simon Trummer seine erste GP2 Saison nicht in Angriff nehmen können, steht er doch als GP2 Fahrer automatisch unter Dauerbesichtigung der Formel 1 Teamverantwortlichen. Aus der Ruhe bringt ihn dies jedoch nicht. Er will einfach weiterhin alles dafür tun, um sich stetig weiter zu entwickeln.
