Lordi Killection
Lordi Killection Release January 31, 2020 Genre Hardrock / Heavy Metal Producer Studio Cover Artwork Mr. Lordi TIP Photographer Nobody knows exactly how old the Finish monsters really are or how long they’ve been striking terror into people’s hearts. Officially the Rock/Heavy Metal monsters LORDI were founded in 1992 by lead singer, songwriter, visual art designer and costume designer Mr. Lordi. The band has deep Finnish roots, originating from the city of Rovaniemi, in Lapland. In 2006 they celebrated their international breakthrough by winning the Eurovision Song Contest (“Hard Rock Hallelujah”) They are Finland’s only winners to date and they earned more points than any other artists in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest up to that time. But is it possible that this is only a pale misperception of our poor, small, pathetic reality? Is there, however unlikely it may seem, another truer reality? What if LORDI would have already been making music since the early 70's? And what if they have been releasing one hit single after the other since those times and now, almost 50 years later, are looking back on a full collection of songs that have been successful ever since? This is exactly the idea that LORDI are celebrating, or maybe a more appropriate word is executing, with their newest studio album “Killection.” Killection will be released on January 31st via AFM Records/Soulfood Music. Once more Mr Lordi, the master of the masquerade, presents us with one of his ideas, absurd and genius at the same time, and comes up with a concept that has never been done before in the music industry: "Killection" is a compilation album that simply says “what if” LORDI had been in existence since the early 70's. -

ITE TEHTY HIRVIÖ Tomi Putaansuun taiteilijakuva Pro gradu-tutkielma Kaarle Westlie Kuvataidekasvatus Lapin yliopisto 2016 Lapin yliopisto, taiteiden tiedekunta Työn nimi: ’’Ite tehty hirviö’’ Tomi Putaansuun taiteilijakuva Tekijä: Kaarle Westlie Koulutusohjelma/oppiaine: Kuvataidekasvatus Työn laji: Pro gradu-tutkielma Sivumäärä: 67 sivua, 2 liitettä Vuosi: 2016 Tiivistelmä Käsittelen pro gradu-tutkielmassani Tomi Putaansuun taiteilijuutta ja kartoitan hänen tai- teilijakuvaansa. Tutkin hänen taiteilijuutensa lähtökohtia ja käyn läpi hänen taiteellisen työskentelynsä lapsuudesta nykypäivään elämänkerrallisessa muodossa. Selvitän, missä määrin Putaansuuta voidaan pitää ITE-taiteilijana ja miten hänen taiteilijaidentiteettinsä on kehittynyt ja muuttunut hänen elämänsä aikana. Fenomenologis-hermeneuttisen tutkiel- mani aineisto koostuu haastattelusta, Putaansuun teoksista ja Mr. Lordista erillisen tarkas- telun kohteena. Haastattelun olen analysoinut narratiivisin keinoin. Putaansuu on taiteilijana moniosaaja. -

Jett Rebel: being myself is the price that I pay. The last 8 years in Holland, popmusic took a turn and Jett Rebel was driving. You just could not ignore him. He's extravagant, pure of heart and does everything for the Music. Until it strikes him down. Sometimes literally... Live: All Dutch media love to compare him with the biggest names in the history of popmusic, but Jett Rebel is mainly being Jett Rebel, always trying to realize his personal ambitions. He wants to rock, rock and rock some more. An average Jett Rebel show lasts 3 hours, without ever losing focus nor energy. Like a passionate superhero he flies around on stage, coordinating every show with his charming enthusiasm, setting the band, as well as the crowd, on fire. Jett Rebel gives all he has got. To you. At a Jett Rebel concert he is there for you, and not the other way around. Since 2013 he played over 250 festivals sold out 10 clubtours. If he's not on stage, he's in his studio recording albums. Albums: All instruments on his albums are played and recorded by himself, and (of course) he wrote all the songs. In a time where there's more demand for singles, Jett Rebel is an album-artist. They are all stories with a beginning, a middle and an end. Every album has it's own unique sound, because Jett Rebel constantly wants to reinvent himself. Feel free to hop on board of this high speed train! Between January 2016 and January 2017 he released 3 albums in 12 months. -

Eurovisión, identidad, hospitalidad, espectáculo, serialidad Since his creation (1956), the Eurovision Song Contest has promoted a fiction of community through audio-visual media that here we’ll analyse through concepts of hospitality, containment, pronunciation and seriality. At first, the rising interest and victories from Eastern European countries of this show, allows a sort of “revenge of margins”, an own representation centring notions of periphery. Under the “Sing” formula, limited on three minutes, also in the “non-political” lyrics, and into a scenography display, it have been generated an own entity with the idiomatic question because of the discontinuous flux of translation and pronunciation. -
Nordic Journal of Art and Research Decades of Recorded Music for Children
Nordic Journal of Art and Research ISSN: 1893-2479 www.artandresearch.info Decades of Recorded Music for Children: Norwegian Children’s Phonograms from World War II to the Present Petter Dyndahl1 & Ingeborg Lunde Vestad2 Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences Abstract: This article presents a study of Norwegian-recorded music for children from World War II to the present, combining a historical perspective with an ethnographic approach. The underlying research has employed both quantitative and qualitative approaches, producing various data sets. The results of the data analyses indicate that the evolution of children’s phonograms is characterized by some distinct genre- and style-related development features. This article describes and interprets such features in light of concepts and theories of children’s culture and music sociology. It also elaborates on the emergence of a music market aimed at children, with an emphasis on phonograms. The association with the popular music industry enables an apparent contradiction, addressed in this article, between pedagogical and commercial considerations and outcomes. Keywords: children’s culture, children’s phonograms, popular music, music sociology Introduction In research and policy-making guidelines concerning children’s culture, the term is often defined as “culture for, with and by children” (Mouritsen, 2002). The theme of this article is children’s music media, specifically phonograms for children, which might indicate that the main focus is on culture produced by adults for children to consume. To a certain extent this is true, but we would nevertheless underscore that it is not possible to examine children’s culture independently, or separated from the rest of the culture.
