arnival in Brazil is an annual festival held in February. Many people think that Carnival is the same in every Cregion of Brazil, but it is not. Brazil is a mix of people and cultures. If you’re planning to visit the country at this time, wherever you go, surely you will have fun! S CARNIVAL IN BRAZIL NORTHEAST: A big colorful party happens in this region. lack History Month was born from the hope and desire to commemorate and give credit to African Americans for their contributions in society. The question is why do Americans celebrate Black History BMonth in February?
This celebration was created by historian Carter G. Woodson, in the second week of February in 1926, because both Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln birthday occur that month. In 1976 this week was extended to the whole month.
During this month, Americans remember the importance of notable, influential and historical figures of African American in American history. For example:

SETSUBUN here is a holiday in Japan called Setsubun. It’s on February 3rd every year. Despite the fact that it’s still winter, we celebrate the coming of Tspring and pray for health and happiness. Many people usually go to a temple or shrine to celebrate.
It involves a tradition of scattering dried soy beans. Scattering the soy beans represents getting rid of bad luck and welcoming good luck. People say they are throwing soy beans, which you can buy at grocery store, to ward away devils. The “devils” are represented by children’s fathers wearing masks. Children throw soy beans at the devils saying, “Get devils out of the house! Invite happiness into the home!”
Another traditional custom is that we eat our age plus one in soy beans. This custom brings good health.
It’s definitely a peculiar holiday. If you come to Japan, I suggest you experience it. Naturally, people of any religion can participate.

o you like Valentine’s day? It is a somewhat different holiday in Japan. In Japan, only women give chocolate Dto men. There are roughly 3 categories of giving. First, Women are encouraged to express love to men by giving chocolate. These are given to significant others or crushes. We call it Prospective winner chocolate.
Second, nowadays many female junior and high school students exchange chocolate with friends. We call it friend chocolate.
Thirdly, sometimes women give chocolate to men who they are not in love with. We call it obligation chocolate. These are given to male friends, co-workers and so on.
In addition, a month after valentine’s day, on March, 14 we have White Day. This is the day men return gifts to women. This is Japanese Valentine’s Day!! By Yuri Miura
SPORTS IN LOS ANGELES
f you live in Los Angeles and you like sports, you are in luck! There are many different professional sports teams to support. IIf you love basketball you can visit the Staples Center, where The Los Angeles Lakers and The Los Angeles Clippers play. These teams are two of the most important because they play in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Nowadays, Lebron James, who is one of the best basketball players in the history of the NBA, plays for The Los Angeles Lakers. It is exciting to watch a basketball game while you are having a delicious dinner at a restaurant. In addition, when the game ends you can buy official products like T-shirts, caps, etc. to remind yourself of that great experience.
Furthermore, if you love soccer you can go to the StubHub Center where you can see The Los Angeles Galaxy. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is one of the most talented forwards of the Major League Soccer (MLS), plays on this professional soccer team. Also, there is another professional soccer team called the Los Angeles Football Club. This team was founded in 2014 and it plays in the Bank of California Stadium. The most famous player on the Los Angeles Football Club is Carlos Vela, who plays for the Mexican national football team too.
Finally, the other professional sports teams that you can see in Los Angeles are the Los Angeles Rams, which play in the National Football League (NFL) and the Los Angeles Dodgers, who play in the Major League Baseball (MLB).
