Mapping Floods in Nellore and Chittoor Districts in Andhra Pradesh using Sentinel-1 Satellite Images
Situation report on severe floods caused by heavy rainfall in coastal Andhra Pradesh (India) were analyzed using Legend Map Prepared by: Data Provided by: Sentinel-1 satellite images obtained from European Space Agency. From the observation it is very clear large agriculture areas and rural populations in Nellore and Chittoor were severely affected due to floods. Flood Date : 24 Novembe 2015 Satellite Image : SENTINEL-1 ± From the flood map it is very clear roads, railway lines and houses have been damaged in the heavy rains as water rose to the level of the roofs which is reported by Media and government sources. At least 100 people have 24 Nov. 2015 (Post Disaster) lost their lives in the state due to floods and related incidents.
